Nope not at all. Even i first though so. Firestick has limited use but chromecast except for prime video support almost all apps.
Chromecast works under low internet speed as well. Many have faced problems with Firestick. And ofcourse you get playstore access with Chrome cast. With new update of “HOME” app one can use their smartphone freely and enjoy content.
Downsides of chromecast: No remote, no prime video (there is a way the same can be casted).
I have both , but only love chromecast.

Don;t buy Chromecast. It’s not worth. Better go for fire stick for multiple reasons
1. Easy install and interface
2. Apps can be seen to TV. Many apps
3. Remote.
4. Connectivity is better with Indian router…
