Google Doodle is celebrating India's famous street food Pani Puri today with a fun game and interactive visuals that will surely entice you to have a scrumptious Pani Puri asap! On this day in 2015, MasterChef Neha Shah made the world record of serving Pani Puri in 51 different flavors in Vidorra restaurant in Indore, which is why Google Doodle is now honoring it.

The World Record of serving pani-puri in most number of flavors was jointly achieved by Indori Zayka and Dainik Bhaskar from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India as stated in Golden Book of World Records, Limca book of world records and India book of world records.

The Google Doodle Pani Puri game has 2 modes, timed and relaxed. Your aim should be to serve the required flavored Pani Puri to different customers in time. For instance, if someone asks for 2 double mango pani puri then no more than 2 or lesser should be selected from the grid to win. You will come across delicious Pani Puri flavours like exotic, fruit pani puri, pizza pani puri, liquor pani puri, and many more.

Pani puri is a popular, bite-sized snack with many different names and regional variations across India. It consists of a hollow, deep-fried flatbread (puri), that is filled with a mixture of flavored water (pani) and a dry filling.

In Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, the filling is usually boiled chickpeas, a white pea mixture, and sprouts dipped in tangy & spicy pani. In Delhi, Punjab and other northern states, this beloved street food is known as gol gappas filled with a mixture of potatoes and chickpeas and dunked in Jaljeera-flavored water. In West Bengal and parts of Bihar and Jharkhand, the name puchkas or fuchkas is used to describe this snack with tamarind pulp as the key ingredient. It is recommended to eat Pani Puri all in one go to avoid a soggy mess😄

Which is your favorite flavored Pani Puri, and where do you like having it? I usually like having it at home (Mumma's boy) with onions by the side!
