Google has announced that its AI Photo Editing Tools like Magic Editor, Photo Unblur, Portrait Light, Magic Eraser and more which require a subscription will be available for Free to All Google Photos users from 15th May 2024.

These AI Photo Editing Tools do stuff which pro-level image editors do. Magic Editor was launched last year for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, but now will be available on all Pixel smartphones, Android and iOS devices as well as Pixel tablets via Google Photos. However, only 10 Magic Editor saves per month are Free. For more, you will need a Pixel device or a Premium Google One plan (2TB and above).
Android users will need to have at least 3GB RAM, Android 8, and 1GB of free internal storage to access Google Photos’s AI Photo Editing Tools. Besides, iOS users require min 3GB RAM and iOS 15 or higher.

Talking about these AI image tools, the Magic Editor uses generative AI to do complex photo edits with simple and intuitive actions. For instance, it can reposition subjects or turn the sky from gray to blue. The Photo Unblur tool will get blur images converted to crystal clear images. Then, Magic Eraser removes unwanted objects without disturbing the image. Besides, Portrait Light adjusts the brightness and position of light in portraits for better viewing.
Google Photos will start rolling out these AI Photo Editing Tools from 15th May so everyone can expect access by a few weeks later (Google's customary release strategy). Other AI tools here are Cinematic Photos, Portrait Blur, Sky Suggestions, Color Pop, HDR Effect (photo & video), Styles in the Collage, and Video Effects.
