Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that Indians will no longer require a Visa for visiting Malaysia, starting Dec 1, 2023. Thus, Indians will not need to pay ₹3800 (approx.) for a Malaysian Visa.

India to Malaysia now Visa-Free!

How many days can Indians stay Visa-free in Malaysia?

As per this new rule, Indian tourists can visit Malaysia and stay for upto 30 days without a Visa. Make a note that there will be compulsory security screening at Malaysian airports.

Why is Malaysia Visa-free for Indians?

The reasons for this Visa-Free India to Malaysia travel are increasing tourism, generating employment, and overall economic welfare of Malaysia. Malaysia says that it has seen a huge rise of Indian tourists in the past few years which has led to amazing economic growth. Thus, they now see the opportunity to scale it even bigger.

Where all can Indians travel Visa-free around the World?

Last month, Sri Lanka started Visa-free travel for Indians followed by Thailand on 10th November with the same 30-day duration. Thus now Indian tourists can travel to Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and some other countries Visa-free. Make a note that Thailand and Sri Lanka have made this Visa-free process available till 10th May and 31st March 2024 respectively. Expect an extended period which will last for the whole 2024

India-Malaysia Flight details

Currently there are 158 flights (30,032 seats) on a weekly basis between India and Malaysia via Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air, AirAsia and IndiGo. There are flights from Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Kolkata, and Trichy to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). Kuala Lumpur is the preferred destination for Indian tourists in Malaysia. However, they prefer Singapore and keep Malaysia as a secondary destination. This is also a reason for Malaysia to go Visa-free!

Malaysia Visa-free Entry for Indian Passport

Indian passport holders have e-Visa, Visa-free, or Visa on Arrival requirements for different countries so do check that as per your requirement. You can also check Visa requirements for Indians for various regions worldwide here. As far as Malaysia is concerned, Indian Passport holders can visit Visa-free for max 30 days from the date of arrival.

Expect more flights to be added between India and Malaysia with this ‘no Visa’ rule implemented. Also, more Indian cities are expected to have flights for Malaysia. Besides, Malaysia has also made China Visa-free!

@mysalemo771 What was the point of asking earlier question regarding "number of countries visited " ?
It's my unfortunate that my birth took place in India, Can't leave India as of now.
If India is bad as hell it will be called bad whether living or leaving..
Logical fact is you staying in India doesn't make it paradise and me leaving it doesn't justify it hell.

You are disgustingly self-hating and I'll tell you why. You were born in a country dirt poor, enslaved for centuries, fighting social disharmony resulting from the worst form of colonialism humanity has seen. How long has it been since then? People from that era are still alive.

14th-15th century Europe was the worst hellhole in the history of civilization with diseases and wars killing hundreds of millions, took them a few centuries to gather themselves for a total turn-around.

You are not living in an oil rich paradise, give country some time. And as for your freedom of what to wear, eat and question, I dare you to enter some Arab-world beach wearing bikini, roasting pork and questioning state religion or policies. 😌

Hotels - I had several hundred thousand points with marriott and IHG and so we stayed at those hotels whenever possible..a very nice hotel cost is around 3-4k / night.. holiday inn KL - cost was only 3500 / night but i used points and so free!

We started with KL stayed for 4 days and visited KL places, waterpark and genting highlands., moved to semporna from KL and flight cost was super cheap and

Semporna: stayed for 3 days in semporna by the docks.. We took 2 days snorkeling package.. it was approx 250 myr / person / day - semporna snoekeling experience to sibuan island, pom pom etc... is the best part of our trip.  note that you will get a passport stamp when you enter semporna and fly out .. its normal.. semporna is a tiny tiny airport. smile there are a lot of videos - but dont miss semporna!!

Kota kinabalu - We flew to kota for just 1 day from semporna - stayed at KK for 1 day and drove to the peak.. forgot the name. we flew back.

cameroon highlands - we went there for 4 days and we stayed at our relatives house there and so.. that may not be something you want to do.. camroon is a okay place but not a great place for tourists.

We flew back with a lifetime of memory for kids!!

I have been to Malaysia exactly 10 years back. 2013. I bought my tickets on Air Asia almost 11 months in advance. Those guys sell 0 rs tickets on many sectors during sale. We have to pay only taxes. So for me Bangalore to KL, KL to Penang, Penang to Langkawi, Langkawi to KL, KL to bangalore. For 2 people with hot seats in all sectors, food on BLR to KL and return routes, luggage of 30kgs. I managed to get all of the above for INR 25000/- only.

2 nights in KL
1 night in Genting
3 nights in Penang
3 nights in Langkawi

KL - city tour, KL tower, Twin towers
Hotel I stayed - hilton
Genting - must visit, with ropeway and better stay there in one of the hotels. It's beautiful
Hotel I stayed - don't remember, but it was the largest in Genting.

Penang - vertical Hill train, butterfly park, some boat ride
Hotel I stayed - traders hotel

Langkawi- beaches, night market, mangroves, boat rides in the sea, snorkeling
Hotel I stayed- holiday inn

Hotel and transport I booked as package with makemytrip. I got it cheaper than individually booking them. 2 days travel with mmt and one free day to explore on my own.

Whatever I remember I have mentioned. Hotels that I stayed are big brand, but not as expensive as in India. Less than 5k per night including breakfast.

So free visa means I don't need to apply for visa?

Because makemytrip is asking for 1000 rs for making visa.
