For folks asking about custom charges, it depends on the invoice raised by the sender.
For e.g. I had bought a car DVR which had a price of Rs 1700. I was asked to pay approx Rs 200.
The final delivery in my case was done by India post i.e. local post office.
I received a letter (postcard) stating that I had a package which had custom charge. I took the postcard to the local post office and paid the amount. The postal folks gave me a receipt for the same and handed over the package.
A very smooth process. On multiple other orders, there was no custom duty at all.

Looks like 3.5mm connectors at both the ends. A good quality aux cable from Belkin etc. should work for you. Which aux cable did you tried? Does both ends have 3.5mm connectors?
Edit: If it has 2.5mm connector at one end then get one of these:
