Product cannot be used without wifi router..
we cannot view videos directly from mobile internet. Chromecast connects connect to wifi router for streaming videos…
Chromecast is having so many bugs and crashes frequently (may is because of refurbished item)
totally chromecast is piece of scrap..
dont waste 2000+ for this …

Lol no way its a piece of crap !! My bro bought it when he came home and it was really handy !! Though I have a smart TV so most of its feaatures weren’t really requited but still its good for users. and yes its just for 999 so just put a ad on qucikrqucikr or olx if u stay in metros ull easily sell it off for the price u bought

mine works perfectly fine, and serves my purpose..
i needed something to stream music channels and to run few reruns of shows for my wife, as she dosent like to use laptop, so this was perfect thing for me. I just installed yuptv app on my wifes phone and voila she was happy, totally saved dth subscrption money..:D
apart from that i do agree theres not much features on chromecast just can be used for streaming from phone and pc, would be nice if they had a inbuilt ui with apps directly playing and streaming from the chromecast itself.
bottom line, if u are looking for a android tv like features this is not the product you are looking for.

coming back to Chromecast Its just a wireless device to broadcast your video from PC/Internet /mirror ur phone,etc

Mine delivered within 4 days by GDust
package was good though looked gud but the unsealed.. i think bcoz it.s refurbished

1. install plex in pc to access media files in in play it directly to hdtv thru chromcast
2. update firmware if not updated normally update runs automatically
3. yes the router is compulsory
4. mine is disconnected twice till now but it was bcoz of my internet connection while youtube
5. some media files in my pc did not play bcoz google-CC has some limitations wrt format of media files
6. you can cast entire playlist of youtube on tv and it will need either chrome ext or ur android device to direct it to do so.

i believe a lot has to be explored and invented in this device google will do it in next updates when it will release.
this is just 2-3 days observation i will post a good review after a long usage if this thread is bumped in the future by any chance..
