A piece of advice: take additional warranty, might pay big in long run for Lenovo/ HP .

U mean to say hp also not good?? # just asking.

Both use filmsy plastics and cheap OEMs susceptible to failure. (Had to replace seagate HDD and LCD screen on G580)

Which brand do you suggest??

Yeah, I’m looking to buy a cheap laptop with good build quality that’s reliable. Which brand and model do you suggest @thrifty_indian ?

Use: Internet Browsing and Movies
Budget: Max 25k, will prefer cheaper over better features

What looks cheaper in the beginning will cost you more in long run. Anyway, check out the Asus i3 laptop posted in one of the two threads above. IF you want cheaper look at
http://www.amazon.in/HP-245-P1b38PA-Inch-Quadco...

Thanks! So you saying better to go for Asus paying a bit higher price ? How is their customer service, since you mentioned in one thread you got one for your father. Which one is it and how has the experience been on it ? In case of HP some extended warranty offer is there, will decide till next week

Experience has been good with Asus and hence I recommended it. The price is on par with HP too. A few people have reported some issue with Asus after sales but fortunately I have never seen any such problem. You can buy extended warranty for any brand but first ask the seller.
Edit: It was a ‘asus x555la’ model.
