I don’t buy non branded headphone normally. I bought jbl j55i,j88i for friends and akg one by its brand name I’ll use this for gym, light weight and perfect while working out

And I rate this over XB450 in all other aspects hands on except bass. I find bass thump in this sufficient to my liking and for me its a better buy than XB450/400. My musical preference is controlled bass & bass not overpowering highs/mids/vocals which is exactly what that happens in XB Series (except for XB950).I listened to all XB series. I don’t particularly like it though except for XB950 which is a killer. As I find their bass very much overpowered and muddier. I love to listen to guitars, drums especially snare & cymbals with good clarity and good double snare drums bass thump which is exactly what AKG K 430 does

yes xb 450 have better bass ,akg is top notch brand so what more to have akg headphone at 999

AKG is very good but not great. But when I say it’s not great, I’m not comparing it with very high end models ( I don’t have one, for that matter ). It’s in comparison with my Sennheiser PX 30 whose MRP is 2k less than this AKG one.
Is it VFM? Certainly at 999.

As MT observed, sharp notes are crisp, even better than PX 30. But when it comes to bass notes (I’m talking about lower bass, not the thumping style), it’s a disappointment. But then every brand has its own ups and downs. This may suit a particular style lover.

The build quality is superb. But the headband can’t be extended and so I find it short and slippery. How do I make it rest over my head?

Head band can be adjusted, try different positions and maybe one can suit you.

Yes the overall bass in kind of airyness or the feeling of it is less. If you want IEMs or headphones like this go for V-shaped signatures

As I mentioned before it is a 2009 model and maybe that’s why it doesn’t justify its mrp. And it is long discontinued by akg another reason why we got it for so less price

This is definitely a great one for “sharp” lovers though. As you mentioned, the cymbals are very very clear.

Headband can be extended? Let me try it then.

Got them yesterday, the build quality is ok, the biggest disappointment is the cord, very flimsy and need to be very careful, but the sound quality is just perfect for my liking, have other headphones but they have too much bass, this is just perfect for listening long hours.

Should I be sad because I missed this deal or should I be happy because there are few bad reviews here?
