Just read the reviews on Flipkart.. Rating of Redmi 1S….has reduced to 3.7 out of 5.. So many negative reviews on Flipkart and Here also…feeling Lucky not able to get 1 in any of the 3 Sales. Many guys would have been thinking the same way, It’s better to go with less specification(MOTO E) by paying 1000 Rs more rather than this Chinese crap. People are thinking that they are saving 1000-2000 rs but they are actually blocking their 6000 Rs by buying a set which is like putting in a Luxurious room with TV, Fridge, A.C DVD and every amenity but cutting down the electricity.. So making no use of anything…..

Some might think Grapes are Sour…..or some may think themselves lucky by not getting in any of the sale…..

I got replacement for my phone that had the micro sd card slot problem.
The new unit is with old miui software, I did not observe as much as the heat that I observed with old unit that had the latest miui.

I could not install the screen gaurd well, in my opinion, the screen guards that I received seems to be poor and not sticking well to the screen.

Just wondering if the glass used for this phone is gorilla glass, so that I can get away with the screen guard.

Nope.

Few things that s/he said are actually true.

It’s a crashy mobile not suitable for multi-tasking.
It heats up quickly unlike Moto E/G.
Faced difficulty while listening to songs & surfing net (Any one of them will surely stop).
Browser crashes abruptly if more than 5-6 tabs are open.

Still it’s good for 1st time users or those who rarely test the mobile to the limit.

I’m still patiently waiting for Kitkat updates.

Edit: I haven’t mentioned the pros as there are many.

Global v37 is not out yet. I installed China’s release, added google apps. Global release size is 544MB where as china v37 release is 370MB, only got core apps(even gapps need to be installed manually). I find v37 much more minimalistic as well as better optimized compared to v36

None right now. Fully clocked at 1.65Ghz with ondemand governor & am not facing heat issues at all. Very minimal, can only be noticed while charging or heavy gaming. Asphalt 8, GTA San Andreas ,Deux Ex : The Fall, Hitman GO, Riptide GP2 all are running very smooth, though you need to partition sd card and move some internal data in order to install these HD games.

The main reason why Redmi multitasking is so bad is because of a lot of background running Mi apps. Mi Launcher(Using Nova & much better UI+much less RAM used), Mi Cloud, Mi Talk and a lot of crapware included in v36. Freeze/uninstall them and your phone will be so smooth!

Asphalt 8 never started on my mobile. It just crashes. How are you managing to run all these games? Earlier I installed V37 Chinese version but my touch was not working nor keyboard.

Dunno, mine working great. I flashed v37 over v36. All google apps crashed and so had to update using the second method described in this topic:

I use a secondary partition and I link all my games directly to 2nd partition using Link2SD plus so it doesn’t even occupy anything on internal memory! That way could install these games.

Also I switch to performance governor while playing games so that lag will be minimal

Please tell me if someone don’t need Redmi. I want this phone but never able to grab it.
