No root method available
Probably there will never be one or may be King root works. I felt its better not to experiment with the device until the 3 month trial period. Once i was tweaking something and my mobile data stopped working. Even after reset it didnt work
Had to call cc and wait for 2 days to get it fixed
Good point about not experimenting with rooting/Xposed until the free period gets over. KG.

Free, excluding the cost of the SIM (i.e. new connection which costs 100-200 AFAIK).
@gambitrite @getready Isn’t the 90-day free network preview period only valid till some specific date in Aug or Sep, i.e. people buying now won’t be getting a full 90-day free period?
Update: There is no cost for the connection as per the information provided below. http://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online...

There’s no deadline, its 90days from the preview sim activation date

i went ahead to buy wind 4 last sunday but they said it oos and they told me to buy another handset and they will give me free power bank…..but later they refused…..
but now as water series price slashed i am interested in them as they have good specs…..

It is 90 days unlimited usage from the day the sim is activated. Also no extra charges for sim. I didn’t pay anything extra apart from handset cost.

Go & buy it again as it is just Rs.2999 now.
seriously considering, as my mobile has only 45 days left …. please advise which is the better one among these mobiles
EDIT: found 3 and 5 has bigger battery and better camera. and 4 has 8gb memory

Nope. The free 90-day preview is now open to everybody and anybody who buys a Lyf handset.
Not sure if purchase of these phones are allowed using reliance retail gift card, but if they allow you can buy one on amazon. Make use of the existing discount offers on gift cards/card card backs (stanchart, digi bank).

Yep, using Reliance GC is allowed. This is what some dimers have already done/suggested in earlier threads.

No idea about flame series. Check specs as some are exclusive at certain stores like HS18, Poorvika, Big C & LOT stores.
All of them seem to have 4 inch screen, 480p resolution, same processor. Flame 4 has 8gb internal memory but battery is only 1400mah. All others have 4gb internal memory. Flame 3 looks good but don’t know whether it is available at reliance stores. Check Flame 5 & Flame 6 as they look ok.

But find out at the store where you are going to purchase before purchasing Reliance Gift Card because when i enquired at 2 or 3 stores, they were not sure whether they can accept GC payment for Jio handsets. None of them were able to provide a clear answer.

THIS IS WHAT I READ IN RELIANCE RETAIL CARD
