Don’t misguide others, if you get invite code its truly unlimited i.e. 4G Data, Voice and SMS for 3 Months.
Some people are saying unlimited plan doesn’t require an invite & some are saying it does require an invite
Confusing
Invite is not at all needed. It is totally unlimited for all without any FUP or speed cap. You just need to buy a Lyf phone.

Invite was required during the initial days of soft launch. Reliance has since relaxed the norms and you don’t require any invite to get Reliance Sim provided that you are buying a Lyf phone. Lyf phone currently comes with 90 days of free Data, Sms and phone minutes. 90 days period starts from date of activation.
BTW, which phone are you buying?

Wind 4 with 4000mah is a true value for money phone because of its high capacity and fast charging capability (yes it comes with 2A charger)… dont go for flame series, they have low battery capacity and can leave you charging the mobile through out the day. When I checked comments on forum, some are complaining that even though you turn on the hotspot and connect to charger, the charge keeps on reducing.. that actually sounds scary.. dont know if they have updated and fixed this issue… so guys check and buy….But wind 4 is OOS in most of the places.

Lyf2 is not a bad choice for 3.5k. But keep your expectations very low. These are low end Chinese device which can be used at best as a secondary phone. I’m just going to leave it plugged in 24/7 to use as a hotspot.

Norms are relaxed now. You don’t need invites anymore. You can check the same by calling any Reliance digital/express/mini stores nearby.
When will we get a sim card without lyf mobile to use in any other handset and what will be the 4g plan
When will we get a general 4g sim so that we can use in other phones and what will be the Internet plan of 4g?

You will get the Sim without lyf phones once Reliance JIO is commercially launched. ATM, nobody knows the exact launch date. Some websites are saying September will be the launch month and some are saying December. We will have to wait to see.
Regarding plans, expect the data to be priced around 25rs/GB. Which means a typical 250 rs/30 days plan will include 10 GB data.

Yes true. I was at a reliance customer care store yesterday for exchanging my cdma sim and the person was telling someone that they can get 3 months unlimited usage if they buy the phone.
Can you choose your own number ?

Yes this sounds more feasible plan. People were saying like 200/- for 75GB which was outright insane.
But 250 for 10 GB is good plan.

Read it in several tech websites.

If you are buying the phone to use as primary device, stick to Wind 4. if you just need it for hotspot, Flame 2 .

I somehow get the feeling that it isnt going to be so cheap. Only cheaper than the 3G plans. May be, the likes of 4 GB for Rs 250 type.

Reliance has invested close to 10 billion dollars to set up telecom infrastructure. The only way they can recover it is by poaching high ARPU customers from Airtel, Voda, Idea. If their plans are even remotely similar to other operators, nobody is going to move to them. There is a huge lust for data in India especially in areas which lacks quality broadband. Airtel and the likes have kept the desperation of people high by pricing data out of average customer’s reach. If Reliance can exploit the void created by other telcos, they have a winner. Data costs next to nothing but the infrastructure required to keep it running costs a lot. I wish Jio will disrupt the market like they did during early 2000 with voice tariffs.
