4G variants seems to have S400 processor with the same specification as that of redmi 1S. I was wondering if that would have the same heating problem as well.
Also, I see some recommendation of 4G variant over 3G. Looking closely Octacore Vs QuadCore, Dual SIM and the lower price indicates that 3G is the best buy. Am I missing something here ?

You are missing 4G. But getting a dual Sim variant is wise call if you need plus I have heard from a techie guy that this mediatek processor is more powerful than snapdragon being used in 4G variant.
All I can say is people for excited saying 4G in sub 10k. Wow, let’s have it. But ask them, how many of them are using cellular data and they are on which plan along . most of the Indians are waiting for rollout of 4G so that they can then switch to affordable 3G !
go for redmi note 4g version. Far better than mtk note. also dual band 4g, snapdragon, kitkat and expandable memory upto 64 gb. wait til 12 dec.
have u update the phone my bro? please update software this all bug has already fixed. pay some money to 3g network don’t hesitate for give some money to 3g network and enjoy mi3
mediatek is cheapest processor please don’t say more powerful then snapdragon .. don’t misguided the dimers
Yeah guys, redmi note with mtk is 35 % powerfull than redmi note 4g snapdragon 400..
Redmii Note 4g antutu score – 22000
Redmi Note antutu score – 28000
Mi3 antutu score – 43000
mediatek is powerful but battery backup is very poor and software update is not there. That why note 3g only run on 4.2.2

I know what mediatek,Qualcomm, exynos. I too preferred Qualcomm over any other brands but due to dominance from mediatek for cheaper priced tag handsets, Qualcomm launched snapdragon 200 to enter into competition for lower priced phones. On the other hand, mediatek is making more powerful processors to challenge Qualcomm dominance. So the result is, high end processors from mediatek are more powerful than mid range processors from Qualcomm.
The same is the case in this. This proccesor have more raw power compared to the snapdragon 400.
