Bro, if u r gonna use it in the cover than the current one will last for couple of weeks so better will b that u buy one from ebay whenever some offer comes , till than if u use wisely than the current one will do the work.

Scratch Guard at Rs 150/- from a power seller. For all those who have brought the Tab (incl me)

Received product just now, when I swithced on I got garbage colors with spice logo but after that not able to view anything, sometimes screen appearing blank with backlight on.

I too ordered one..
got a msg from home that my tab arrived.. read all the posts up until the above one by srinivasta..
mahybe it needs more charging or a factory reset or a hard button reset…
now getting a little uneasy… fingers crossed !!

First they offered me service replacing LCD screen, I disagreed for that telling how can I accept serviced one as new, I asked for replacement only. Even the replacement from saholic is pathetic, they need DOA certificate from Spice service center and I have to send screenshot of the certificate with sealed package, later saholic will arrange for return pickup and once received by them they will send it to Spice for replacement and I will get the replacement tab from Spice. All over will take more than 10 days time.

If it lasts for a year, then the owners should give party to DD members. I have never heard of these cheap tablets lasting more than 3-4 months

10 days turn around time for repairs would have been fine. For DOA, replacement should have been over the counter or asap or better directly from retailer under returns. Scary thing would be these folks won’t be able to repair hardware fault and keep product with then for months. It has happened with Chinese products. And more so when company selling product has no technical know-how and service is based on franchisee model when only purpose they exist for is looting/ fooling people. Thats one of the reason for poor service for all indian cos like MMX and all others who are only good at stamping their logo on some other cos product.

I am thinking to replace my nexus 7 with 10 inch decent tablet. And this tempted me being very cheap for the specs and performance. But I don’t want to bang my head later for kaput device. If its works fine, then great.

I feel like spice is dumping these for cheap to clear stocks before they go kaput in their warehouse only. Otherwise there is no reason for this tab with showcased performance in videos to sell so cheap. Curious to see how things go.

opened my tab yday..
powered it up.. it said “Switch Up!” and lo behold – my tab was up and running and immediately connected to wifi
Play store was not working initially but then a force close resolved it.

Pros
very fast and smooth touch response
played games without lag
watched 1080p movies without a hitch
Skype worked perfectly fine
battery back was good (Tip: always keep the brightness to the lowest to enhance battery backup. Skype also eats up lot of battery. Not sure why)
Gmail, facebook, gtalk, twitter.. all of them were a breeze
connected tab to TV and laptop and it worked perfectly fine without any issues

Cons (as others mentioned)
backlight bleeding very very less, not noticeable unless someone knows about this tab
volume too low to watch a movie or skype. need an external speaker or headphones

Overall happy to have a received a non defective product. As I live in Chennai, the service center I checked online is quite close to my house so should not be a problem in case I run in to a problem.

Battery replacement as long as it doesnt require soldering can not take more than 15 minutes and can be done without any technical knowledge. So its a clear indication that service center is making a fool out of a person. Things will be worse when something goes amiss with PCB etc.

Friends, I got call from Spice support center, they are confirming they don’t have stock for replacement of new peice and they are ready to repair by replacing LCD screen or the other option of sending back to Saholic for replacement, friends suggest me is it better to get repaired or face struggle from saholic for replacement.

BTW, received mine an hour back.

To me it seems, a very good tab exceeding my expectations.

Switched on the tab. Connected to my phone’s WiFi hotspot. Fastest connection I have ever seen in my life.

Downloaded tube mate apk. Apk was downloaded. Clicked on the downloaded file to install it. After 3-4 seconds saw no response. Clicked on install again.

A message boomed: this application already exists. Do you want to replace it.

I was shocked.

Super fast apk installation. (Still confused whether tube mate came bundled or it was installed from my downloaded file. Kindly confirm.)

Downloaded `tum hi ho’ f1080p from ashiqi via tubemate. Played in video player. Awestruck by amazing screen quality. Speaker sound is very good too.

Initial verdict:

The spice tablet is really stellar. Worth twice every penny spent.
