They first made only gold version available at first, so that people buy that first, then after few minutes, other 16gb variants were in stock, after that other 32gb variants were in stock, this was the strategy to get the stock for Gold version sell out, even i was fooled into buying the Gold version, but waited few mins and grabbed the Dark Grey Version, which was In stock for 5-10 mins, Gold version is still in stock.
isn’t the gold version supposed to be the best? just asking as i might buy this phone in the next sale. personally i don’t like gold but i think it looks the best amongst other colours plus everyone else too seem to be after them
I loved the Silver most (using it to type right now)

yeah silver looks better to me too…thanks.. couple of more questions..
i heard 3s gets a bit slow, and 3s prime makes more sense to buy considering what you getting for 2k extra… what do you think?? i dont really want to spend more than 7k but i would be if prime is an obvious choice, although 3s specifications are good enough for me..
also, what i understand is that these phones come back in stock every wednesday.. is that true? any way to get some extra benefit?( no bank offers around and dont think any fk vouchers too) and amazon not selling these phones?
yes this is a start of war against Chinese product and i am proudly fighting it by being keyboard warrior and not only me all Indians who loves their country are boycotting Chinese products. u too also become keyboard warrior rather than doing nothing.
Redmi 3s @rs.3999 me mil jaye toh kya karoge Bhai log …. Chinese product market se khatam karne k liye … Yeah log lene lagenge ….

Redmi 3s Prime makes more sense to me because it’s just 2000 more and you get more ram, more internal storage and best of all, finger print scanner. (I can’t use a phone now without one after using it, it makes a huge difference to be honest)
Plus the finger print sensor is too fast.
But 6999 version is great if you’re on a tight budget, you’ll miss the fingerprint scanner in my opinion and if you’re a dual sim user you may run out of space. I use two sims and 32 GB is better for me. I play large games, store like 4-5 GBs of music.
I haven’t seen any performance issue to be honest. I actually bought this phone during the MI sale by paying Rs 8499 from Mi.com.
You kind of missed all the great sales, from the SBI Flipkart offer and everything. Still it’s worthy of those 6999-8999 price tag. No better option right?
Amazon doesn’t sell it.

I never used any trick. Almost got it every single time.
Go to Flipkart’s website at around 11.55 PM keep on reloading from time to time. Gold comes first at around 12.01 and then the silver/grey for around 2 mins max. Prepare your address (you can change it later nowadays) and go for COD. COD works everytime. Don’t use SBI. I missed a lot of deals due to SBI issues at such times. (my bad luck maybe)

Sorry for above post chk this some 1 mentioned that he is using "" use two sims and 32 GB is better for me. I play large games, store like 4-5 GBs of music.’"
Phone is back in stock. I was wondering if this would be a good upgrade over the first gen moto g . I am concerned about the loud speaker volume being low and apps getting killed in background affecting timely notifications. Also, is jio working fine after the latest update?
Any owner of this model please respond – how much time does it take to latch onto the GPS if I am inside a building or a car? Usually phones in this price range take several minutes. Is this any different?

I use strava for tracking my ride, and i get my current location in almost 1-2 secs, i dont think there is any delay for latching onto GPS.

If you open Googlemaps and then enable GPS on the phone, how long does it take to precisely locate you?
