People still can’t get out of the mindset of using chinese phonehttps://cdn0.desidime.com/smileys/BbI1P.gif

Well it being chinese or japnese doesn`t bother me as i have been stuff from china and japan for over last 7 years, it`s the feedback that you guys are giving in this thread , that`s what made me think nexus 5 is a better option as it doesn`t have these issues.

I keep the same settings (battery saving) for both my other devices, and it works well with the same apps. With Mi3 its not working anywhere. Not in G Maps, not in browser, not anywhere.

Anybody knows what might be the issue? Akshat…? https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

I don’t think below issues are true..

RAM Issues //
SIM Card being stuck // may be for first time smartphone user
Notification LED not work // because of default screenguard
screen not responsive(for few) // may be phone loaded with buggy apps..
Location services not working // app issue nothing related to phone

the phone is overall good
build wise
performance wise
usage wise
battery wise
the one thing i didnt like is the camera….they should have supplied an 8mp shooter but with better quality…but its allright for this price point device

There are always exceptions. You must understand that..
Besides, as explained by a few people already, most of these “issues” aren’t really issues in the phone..

Got the phone on the first instance, camera just hangs, if your take the photo with HDR mode device just reboots, try to see if the gallery by any chance has an image, this will just close the app says Unexpectedly closed please report to MIUI

Not good one
I have booked on 21st and very happy on received today but after exploring the feature I found out the display issue when I make/receive any call. My display & other operation not functioning when I attend the call additionally other issue is I have put battery charge for 10 mins but the device is too hot. Totally frustrated on this behavior, I have requested for replacement.

AnTuTu score 20000 instead of 36000 claimed looks degraded model
Only giving 5* so that Flipkart displays it to users, 1* and 2* review are not visible at all.

Date Received : 23-July-2014

I urge all the users to run AnTuTu bench marking application and check the score, since original MI-3 phone performance should be around 36000, but looks like Xiaomi is dumping degraded models in India and I got only 20000 score.

Sim Tray design is faulty – Be very careful with Sim Tray. Sim card is getting stuck inside.

I got mine yesterday, explored and tested its all features. found NO bug or flaw what so ever as reported by some members, sim tray needs to punch in via provided sim ejector tool and it pops up, put in your sim and insert. it worked.
screen is stunning sharp and has faadu(un comparable) colors.
notification lights also working, touch is damn butterly smooth. phone is fast and responsive, played some initial games and no lags found.
call clarity and quality are just awesome and found no issues with it too. incoming and outgoing both sounds are crystal clear. phone call recorder is also working fine.
I have nexus 4 and htc sensation (dual core) but this is really a beast and surpasses all phones.
I am so far more than happy with this phone and has no complaints on any ground.

Some bloke on fk saying display not working during call. What a joke. Everyone knows that when the phone is placed near body display auto turns off or if the proximity sensor is covered by the scratch guard this problem occurs.

Also people who have never used custom roms will not like it.

Bro i see you have quoted an issue of UI being pretty complex as an issue ?? My question is why develop for Android ?? Develop for iOS itself https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif You are developing for a platform that you yourself do not like then what’s the use of it ?? You should first yourself be convinced with the OS and then comes the development part ……….. Development without actually loving the OS will not be of any use .

And they way you are quoting issues …….. I rarely doubt you will fit into an Android ecosystem . Android is all about exploring the possibilities to the limits . The biggest power of Android comes from the fact that it is open source and not closed source like iOS . You could just pick somebody else’s work and re-tune it to your liking !! This will never happen with iOS. And for a developer the first instinct is to solve issues !!! Take a simple issue of not getting a Antutu score of 34k which you glorified from Flipkart. the first instinct is to attack why the hell i am not getting a 34k score when the rest of junta has that score !!! Its that need to explore and delve into the specifics which makes Android what it is !!! keenness plays a big part in it !! Everything has solutions !!! And screaming about UI being complex etc etc isn’t gonna change anything !!!! Have you even tried to explore it ?? When you are deciding among your options try getting a MIUI ROM on any device and then explore !! Then decide for yourself whether you will be suited to it or not !!!

Please don’t take it as a rant !! I have been myself a developer of Android and iOS both . The difference in the mindsets of both sets of developers is huge ! First figure out whether you really want to develop for Android or you are just following the masses !!! In the same way people are calculating Antutu score just for the sake of it ! Until and unless you know what Antutu signifies or for that matter what Quadrant , GFX , Chainfire or any other benchmark signifies be it 34k or 20k, they are just numbers !!! I hope you know that max. Antutu score quoted for any device is valid under certain conditions. Just ranting about each and every issue is not gonna make a difference !! Try finding solutions !!! If its a manufacturing issue its really an issue …. no doubt you are justified to rant about it. But ranting about HDR causing FC etc etc when it is already mentioned in the OTa update is just not justified !!

Definitely MI3. though its individual opinion. But I love this beauty. I have faced RAM issue but after an update its gone now. Verdict, I’m happy until the manufacturer is supporting the device and Software.
U know, in my office who knows me, asks about this phone daily. I have paid 14k for excellent hardware and software, good manufacturer support, a good support online.

Well first of all the sales you get from apps does not depend on market it depends on which buyers it is targeted to . You can check the revenues of Playstore and Appstore . Playstore has much larger number of downloads compared to iOS but the no. of customers who pay for the apps is substantially more in Appstore. And if you are thinking of getting money through ads ….. no one loves to use a crappy Ad supported app . Ad supported apps have significantly low revenue as people simply don’t love the unnecessary intrusion !!!

And if you are developing an app just because that particular platform has market that app won’t start off until and unless you yourself have experienced the platform and not the nitty gritties of it !!! It does not matter what cross platform you use to code , it depends on App’s utility and the idea !!

Bro i am sure if you have followed the thread carefully the issues listed by people have almost been solved except the manufacturing issues which are really the fault of manufactures . Listing down 5 issues from flipkart reviews out of 2 would be genuine and faced by handful of people ..does that make the phone crap ?? There are loads of excellent reviews out there too have you tried to read them ? In fact we all know how flipkart review system is ? Look up any other phone !!! And you know what Android will always have some bugs due to its open nature !! But it’s power also comes from the same fact.
"Quoting SIM tray design as faulty " etc etc really makes me wonder what are we reviewing !!!

When the issues are genuine like in some of the screens had digitizer detached causing screen flickering etc etc its completely valid !! But quoting something like getting 20k on antutu instead of 34k without proper settings and then glorifying these issues does not make any sense !! I am sure being a developer you do understand how Antutu scores are arrived upon . Open any other device and do not use it high performance mode and give me the antutu score that they officially quote !! It is not possible !! Be it Apple , Samsung , LG , Sony or any other brand !

The phones has its share of issues but some of which are quoted and then glorified by you are simply not any issue !

Well market is pretty huge , i hope you do know that

I use Titanium or Corona to develop apps , so i don`t have to code for each platform explicitly , I need the devices to test the apps . I don`t want to be stuck with a piece of crap
