Ad Bot
Who is he ? and why is he here on DD .
We don’t want any embedded advertisements on DD while browsing , Please staffs don’t do this and don’t even think about disabling adblocker .
We hate ADs .
P.S – I think affiliate income and other avenues are generating enough income for survival of DD .
what is the concept behind Ad Bot ?
what’s the need of fake likes, fpd and karma stats.
its an insult for those work hard to earn those ..

+1 @admin Please fix this on an urgent basis.
So you are OK with the ad placement between the comments? its very erratic ! .. I urge staff members to place AD BOT at some other part of the site .

I would not be against letting the admins make some more money as long as they are being open and transparent about it.
Think for a second if you would even have this chance to criticize if they chose to be deceptive about it. Yes, take a pause and think about all the deceptive ways they could have used to make more money. Moreover, I think @anthrax.ut did a pretty decent job of explaining the requirement to introduce “Ad Bot” posts in his own casual way. http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...

We have overall reduced the ads from DD (in older design is was 3 per page, and now it can be one or max 2 per page) and + which has impacted us a lot in revenue+.
….
The way Ad Bot is thought of is ,
too have more sponsored content from merchants directly thus making the content more native in nature…..
too have similar deals or some site annoncements thus getting more content from other parts of the site
too have an ability to chat with the bot to get deals or coupons you are looking forTill the time we build these features…. google ads will be seen there… unfortunately for us….. that is imp for smooth functioning of the company…. but soon we would want to make it less as ad but more as relevant content…. till then would want the patience and support from Dimers….
Is there any positive impact on Dimers ?
like more payout for FPD:roll:

Looks like they are not seeing as much revenue nowadays due to closure of several startup’s. Offers have become less, VC funds have dried up & visitors to DD have decreased. So they have come up with Ad Bot to increase revenue. DD is going downhill & it will become much worse in the next few years as several more startups are on the downfall. By doing this, the revenue might increase but DD will lose some dimers and some people might get discouraged to tap into DD. Already trades, deals are being passed on Whatsapp. Don’t know if this is experimental or permanent but you are already seeing the dimers feelings about the Ad Bot.
is that true ?
i dont think so … if u r sure , then i know DD uses Google Adsense , they can publicly post their daily earnings and the users can decide whether the admins really want Bots or not …
but trust me the first 2 lines you have written i laughed out a lot .
DD is earning like hell . There are a few / very less competitors in " deals " websites .. and DD is always on the top , so think about the earnings

Don’t think so.. They have a new ad on youtube which is awesome..
Visitors decreased unlikely, earlier it was confusing to set deal alerts and stuff now they pop up those things and deal alert is a very good thing.. That would definitely increase visitors
Downhill ?? How ?? Is the affiliate money reduced ?? Is the cost of maintaining web increased or employees increased ?
Whatsapp no cannot beat DD. At the end of the day one comes to DD for deals and info.
Ad Bot thing is quite useful if it is used as a proper bot which learns from the user activities and suggests ads based on that which would be a really cool feature. Sooner or later this is bound to happen cause AI is the next big thing and one needs data for it which they have in plenty.

Internet of things
+Machine learning
+ data mining
And now we have new big popup to warn for usage of ad-blocker….!!!
It comes every time when we visit any page on desidime.
Times of India tried doing it but didn’t succeed. There is always a work around
as if big fat affiliate earning wasn’t enough
DD is being greedy now. It should let users decide if they want to use adblock or not. Giving a big popup on every page is not good at all. I will quit any website instead of disabling adblock.
True it is our choice. Why are they insisting on disabling ads? Already they r earning lots of commision.
If they continue to do cheap tricks like this copy the product URL and remove the DD redirect link and continue shopping. Then they would lose the affiliate commision also.
If i can waste time on clicking adblock popup I would not hesitate to spend extra time and remove DD affiliate links when I am purchasing something.
Thanks for removing the ad-block pop-up.
