American Express / AMEX -- Doubts and Clarifications
With abounding offers from mobikwik, people don’t know what to do with all the money they add in their wallet. A good way to spend it all, when there are no other offers available, is to buy AMEX cards from infibeam.

But I can see that many dimers around are not much familiar with how to use AMEX cards. This post is for them.
There are many sites which accept AMEX as a payment option out of which the most important ones are:
Amazon
Flipkart
From hearsay, eBay and Snapdeal accept AMEX gift cards too. Never used it myself though.
One more important addition to this list is BSNL portal. I’ve used their Billdesk gateway to pay my landline bill using AMEX gift card. This is a good thing as we have had no offers on BSNL landline bills so far. 
Now coming to the description of the card, AMEX has a card number and expiry date just like any other CC/DC. But the CVV is of 4 digits and is found above the card number itself in a bit smaller font.
Hence we have no work with the rear side of the AMEX cards, so to say. 
AMEX cards do not have the 2nd stage 3D PIN / password verification as do cards like VISA / Master. So, your payment is done once you enter the details found on the card. Hence, it’s very important to keep this card safe. Remember.
Paying your landline bill on BSNL portal:
After I entered my card details on Billdesk, it asked for name, email and mobile number. I just gave my own details and it was accepted. So, no need to worry about which email ID / mobile number you used to buy the card. Give them a valid mail id and mobile number, and you are good to go.

axis bank provides facility to chk balance at ATM but even that is not working…
Did you contact Axis CC via phn? They have a CC number and they deal with gift card as well.

No. Amex gift cards cannot be used in mobikwik or paytm.

Amex card of any kind does not work in Oxigen even though it should work

on payment page it says it’ll accept amex card. On choosing amex card option, firstly it doesnt change cvv field to 4 digits. also card number incorrect error is given

In the new update of Citrus Cube, you can use Citrus cash
Got a PM asking me to explain how mobikwik, AMEX and Axis are related to one another. I post it here since it is not an unethical trick and no site involved will block this since we are not trying to bankrupt anyone here. 
1. Whenever mobikwik comes up with offers like 10%, load your wallet.
2. After accumulating the amount you can afford to, buy Amex Gift Card from infibeam (you will get 100 out of 110 shipping charges as cashback, so no problem here).
3. Now buy Axis Gift Card from Amazon using this Amex GC.
Since Axis GCs are VISA, they can be used on more platforms both online and offline. For example, AMEX does not work on mobikwik, paytm or payumoney but Axis does.

I myself have not done the third step yet. So, please don’t think that I am big looter of sorts and start PMing me asking for different tricks and stuff. I’m just a small scale online shopper. Very rarely do I get into these loops when I see that they do not require much energy and time like emulators, rooted mobiles etc.
There are giant looters around whom you can contact to know how to bankrupt an online store. I will just mention one prime example here. You guys may contact him. He is virtually an encyclopedia of looters.

While buying this card from amazon or any site, do we need to buy in our name or we can buy in another’s name?
Would the person’s name appear once bought on his name?
Any post verification would be done after buying the same?
I am planning to gift but I don’t want any hassle to happen to the intended person.
