Freecharge wallet is not secured, don’t keep any balance in it. Last week I got a mail from freecharge saying registered mobile number has been update to 8878272963 (Not my number). As I did not make this change I immediately logged in to my account using email id and password to check the balance and found that my wallet balance of 150 Rs was gone. I have never shared my password with anyone and only use my personal laptop to login to freecharge so the person who changed the number must be some hacker. I immediately logged a complaint with freecharge by giving them the transaction detail’s and the mobile number 8878272963 used by hacker and requested them to revert the transaction.
Today after 3 days I got reply to my ticket advising me to change the account password (what a brilliant idea) and telling me that the cannot revert the transaction.
These guys don’t care if you lose money or if your account is hacked, they wont help you or rectify any thing at there end they will simply say they can’t reverse the transaction so if you don’t want to lose your money don’t keep any balance in your account and remove all the cards that you have stored in your freecharge account.

I can understand. Even your name says that all.
How about Payumoney guys? I always keep money in it.
even payumoeny is not secure ! Search DD. I am not getting that post.
@chetanc12: As already mentioned I dont share my passwords with any one.
@rusty.james490: Yes I logged in my snapdeal account and freecharge wallet is linked with it but that is from my Laptop to which no one has any access.
@discover: I login from my office laptop which all the firewalls, antivirus, spywares install and the policies do not allow me to install any third part software on it.
@vijaykrish80: As mentioned earlier chances of system being compromised are very less. Wont say its not possible as nothing in the world is secure and can be hacked.
My main aim of creating this thread was to warn everyone on not keeping any balance in there wallet as it is not secured and freecharge wont help you in anyway.
Those defending freecharge see their security. Someone logged in my account (maybe by password or may be by some other backdoor), then he changed the primary mobile number linked to my account. Now at this point shouldnt they send an OTP to old number or registered email id, they didnt do it. All they did was send a email saying number is changed, whats the use of sending the mail when horse has bolted they should have something to preventr it.
Transaction details shows that the fraudster did a transaction on Mobilwik, now freecharge and mobilwik both being wallets should have some mutual understanding to reverse transactions espically if they are reported as fraud transactions but as neither of them care for customers they wont do anything like this.
As and when peoples account get hacked and they lose money (believe me this will happen with many people) please post your experience here or in a new thread.
I am totally agreed with you dimers, I had a bad experience with Mobikwik, PayTM and Freecharges also.
Mobikwik was response my problem and sortout immediately. but PAYTM and Freecharges were fraud.

And Freecharge claims to be the MOST secured wallet on the Internet.
I lost ~1200 last month. Someone recharged and had fun.
I questioned customer care, who were promising at first – and a week later came up with the same generic response. I simply told them this can happen either because it was my fault or yours. If it is my fault – which it isn’t – can you please at least investigate and treat me like your customers?
The guy agreed and asked me to file a FIR. I was like meh. F*ck this sh*t. And moved on.
Jahaan OTP waala paytm safe nahi toh baaki sabka kya bolna.. I generally keep that much amount whose loss I can bear.
same here….almost NIL balance is no more harmful!!!

I tried paying on nearbuy for a deal via Frrecharge Go mastercard and Woo it didnt ask me OTP and payment was done , I tried paying once again after few mins and then it asked me OTP
See how much secure their system is
Yupp that thing is there, it asks for OTP the second time onwards, first time it does not ask for OTP. Even in case of Oxigen Wallet if you need to pay via Oxi cash method it does not ask for OTP.
just tweet them about your problem,, definitely they will get back to you

Check this image I recieved strange otp messages,no money has deducted though. But why I got that. I never transacted using FreeCharge Card, my FreeCharge password is strong and unique with 18 digits and I blocked my FreeCharge Card now finally . even if someone break that password what about mpin to view that card,, something wrong with FreeCharge, I have only 200rs in it not about the money, but it matters privacy, don’t know what’s going with FreeCharge
I also get these strange messages even when I am not using it
