Mail them and ask them to waive off the charges as you had made the payment earlier. They can waive off charges if you haven't got any waiver in past 1 year. And if you are using hdfc internet banking make sure to pay 1 week in advance.

My Icici Amazon Pay card due date was 7th March..I paid through HDFC Bill Pay on 6th March. I can see that Icici has charged me more than 1000 rupees including GST as Late Payment Charge. They are saying that they have received the money on 11th. Is there any way to fight this case?

Ask hdfc bill pay when payment is settled. If settlement date is 11th then you can't do anything with icici. You can ask hdfc bank for compensation.
Pay atleast 5 days before payment date from next time
HDfc billpay always takes 2 or 3 days for crediting amount to icici
But settlement date should still be payment date, Check with hdfc for the delay in settlement.
Always pay 5 days before due date if u use hdfc bill pay to avoid such things, or use instant settlement apps like cred , Paytm if u want to pay one day before.
Why 1000 ? How much was the amount ? Which card is this ? Generally there is a rate of interest charged for late payments not flat 1000. Please add more details

3. Keep in mind that payments made through HDFC bill pay may be credited late to your ICICI card.
4. You should receive a payment received email from ICICI within 2-3 working days.
5. However, to obtain the exact date of payment, check your ICICI net banking account.
6. If the net banking account shows that the payment was received on 6th March, you can take action against ICICI.
7. Start by calling their customer service to resolve the issue.
8. If they are unhelpful, escalate the matter by emailing the nodal officer.
The same thing happened to me. Raise a complaint to every senior and finally the nodal desk. Ultimately resolved
You are lucky. I am told that they can reverse either late payment charge or finance charge.
