Need help choosing bank for international debit card
Hi, All
I currently have sbi bank account and visa card, which doesn’t support international transaction. So I am thinking of opening a saving account in other bank bcz sbi international cards have high annual maintenance fees(AMF) (Correct me if I am wrong ). So can you please suggest me a good bank to open a new account based on following requirements:
(1) must provide international enabled debit card
(2) low AMF for cards and min. balance requirement in account
(3) low currency conversion rate
(4) No other hidden charges
@myliferockkss help me if u can. U can also tag others
PS: What are the max. bank accounts a person can have?

Make 6 transactions worth Rs. 500 or more each using their debit card every month.
Or you can open Axis Bank savings account. They provide truely international debit card, which works almost anywhere in the world.

HDFC is better option I think. The only issue is min. balance 10k.
Well i opened up icici pockets savings account when it was launched…. And have been using it daily now without any issues….
Plus thing about ICICI is that all their visa/mc dcs can be activated for international transactions…. So even if u get their normal visa dc it will support intl txn. without any issues…. I also like the features they offer in their mobile app/ net banking…. Other good thing is that your pockets v.card and Pockets savings account will be linked to each other so inter transactions is awesomeWith HDFC i have heard that only Platinum Chip based Dcs supports intl txn.
So do confirm about HDFC dcs bcoz i dont have personal experience with that bank
I have confirmed that their debit card supports int. tax. So i m confused between Icici and Hdfc. What do u say? Also I already have 2 sbi accounts. Does having more no of accounts create problem?
A big no for HDFC. Go for ICICI.
Why so? I bank with HDFC since 2009 and ICICI since 2013. I find HDFC more flexible when compared to ICICI

At last, I was able to run digibank app on my rooted phone. Though I haven’t yet done any international transaction with it. Hope it goes through when I do it.

Digibank virtual card is shit. It doesn’t work internationally. You have to convert to saving account for that.

How is Digibank to be blamed for this when it has clearly mentioned so on website and app?

Where is it? I might have missed it. But everyone I know was touting it as an internationally enabled virtual card.

What benefits do I get with the debit card?
Your virtual debit card, which comes with digibank e-wallet, can be used for online and electronic transactions in India, within specified limits.
Your physical debit card, which comes with digiSavings, can be used anywhere regular debit cards can be used, including online and point of sale transactions, as well as overseas. You also get free unlimited cash withdrawals at nearly 2,00,000 ATMs across India.
Both debit cards are subject to usage limits._

Okay my bad. I just had taken it for granted that it would work abroad as well. I am just disappointed.
