I asked them when i called them how to reddem it they said me u need to come with recpt of that so i said rcpt is lost cz its very old , any other way then they said u need to talk with manger may be he can help u.. now point is that when i was using that ac b4 4 5 year i have not deposit huge mony . so might be when they chkd my past trastion then thy cm to know it i hvnt deposit huge mny..

Remember – If they ask for courier and handling charges contact police, It would be a scam

Beware some bank employees are cunning enough to do this. They pick old accounts/fds and call them to give an update. If they realise the person who did the fd is long gone, they just pick some less used/dormant accounts and transfer it to that account. If the person who had made the deposit comes to enquire they would just say it was a wrong transaction and gives him back his money. If you try to withdraw money they might allow at first and later reclaim or try to blame you.

This was the story told by my uncle a few years back. He used to witness this when he used to audit these PSU banks, but those were days of non-computerized banks. Not sure if it happens even now.

same happened with my brother, when he checked his account in post office ..some check was deposited wrongly to his account …what we did we withdrawal the amount and after around they came back to us that the money was wrongly deposited in your account, first we resisted but then they said that bank employee have to pay money from his pocket ,,blah blah and with some more peoples who knows us they came to us to do the settlement and we returned the money without interest..but there was a lot of mental stress….they can’t legally get back the money but they try different ways and give you stress..let you decide what you want to do

Yes went to bank last month for confrming that is it realyy shwoing in my bank ac, so they chkd my ac nd told that u have made Fd BEOFRE five year and which is maturd now.. so i talk with him only that m not able to find rcpt wts other way then they said me to talk mnger..
today again i called and confirmng that the FD is still in my ac or not.. nd yes still in my ac..
