American Express / AMEX -- Doubts and Clarifications
With abounding offers from mobikwik, people don’t know what to do with all the money they add in their wallet. A good way to spend it all, when there are no other offers available, is to buy AMEX cards from infibeam.
http://www.infibeam.com/Gifts/american-express-...
But I can see that many dimers around are not much familiar with how to use AMEX cards. This post is for them.
There are many sites which accept AMEX as a payment option out of which the most important ones are:
Amazon
Flipkart
From hearsay, eBay and Snapdeal accept AMEX gift cards too. Never used it myself though.
One more important addition to this list is BSNL portal. I’ve used their Billdesk gateway to pay my landline bill using AMEX gift card. This is a good thing as we have had no offers on BSNL landline bills so far.
Now coming to the description of the card, AMEX has a card number and expiry date just like any other CC/DC. But the CVV is of 4 digits and is found above the card number itself in a bit smaller font.
Hence we have no work with the rear side of the AMEX cards, so to say.
AMEX cards do not have the 2nd stage 3D PIN / password verification as do cards like VISA / Master. So, your payment is done once you enter the details found on the card. Hence, it’s very important to keep this card safe. Remember.
Paying your landline bill on BSNL portal:
After I entered my card details on Billdesk, it asked for name, email and mobile number. I just gave my own details and it was accepted. So, no need to worry about which email ID / mobile number you used to buy the card. Give them a valid mail id and mobile number, and you are good to go.
.
Hope this helps a few people who are new to AMEX.
Feel free to ask any questions regarding AMEX. I’ll try to answer with all the little knowledge I have.

1.8% + ST.
Pro-rata amount is refunded in case of cancellation, unlike some other banks.
But Billdesk processing is very slow, so don’t try during Tatkal booking.

These are physical cards delivered to your address.
No min. purchase condition. Add this card to your Amazon / Flipkart account and shop for any amount.
Sadly, paytm, freecharge, mobikwik and payumoney don’t accept AMEX.
Mobikwik used to accept AMEX but have stopped now, perhaps to close the loop.
Hope this helps.

Giftxoxo got AMEX too?
Buy AXIS gift card using the AMEX gift card in rediff, and you can use it at any visa POS (offline) machine.
Last time I purchased AXIS retail gift card they sent me the corporate gift card which also works on all websites.
But infibeam is too slow in processing orders. My AMEX card which was ordered 10 days back is yet to get dispatched
Mobikwik cashback working on Infibeam 10% discount ? please confirm.
How Much Time Does Infibeam Take To Deliver Amex Card ?
Ordered it on 15th and Status still Says Processing(Your Order Has Been Approved For Processing)
Ships By 20th
Delivery by 24th
Anyone bought the Axis Bank card from Amazon? If yes, was it a retail card or a corporate card?
Although the description mentions it can be used online, my chats with Amazon CC regarding this were unsatisfactory and I contacted the seller y’day, but no response yet.

I already have Amex cards but since Axis Cards cannot be returned in case they don’t work online, I thought of asking the seller(Axis Bank) for clarification via Amazon.
