@ishandon There is no point in indulging with politically inclined fools. They have a propaganda to spread.

It’s unfortunate that the DD team is allowing such spammers to create political and religious threads. The admins are indirectly promoting negativity and hostility. So if you really want to make DD a better place for deals and shopping discussions, you will be better served by making a strong case for blocking the discussions of topics irrelevant to deals and shopping, like this political and religious drivel.

i just landed here out of a (now removed?) tag. (had previously seen the topic title and as usual chose to not even open it, since it was nothing of direct consequence).

though I appreciate and agree with the sentiment, DS Sir, the polling thing and resultant fresh debate is only going to stretch our time and energies (as with any polls in India).

this is primarily a site to promote on-line shopping with savings, where most of the infrastructure is paid for by the site, in-lieu of hopes to earn revenues from affiliations.

there are umpteen, as in

TONNES of great deals and offers that routinely get missed or ignored here.

I just do not understand, how posts not of our immediate interest or topical discussions NOT get ignored and left to die a natural death.

DD’s user traffic does not depend on deal discussions alone, don’t you see?
If threads like these really affected their image (and revenue, more importantly), they would have banned them long long ago.

Aha! Thanks for the reminder. I had finally acquired the UK version(which includes Chapter 21 missing in the US one)but somehow had lost track of it. I will move it to the top of my list soon.

Two things are best to be avoided at public places i.e “POLITICS AND RELIGION” unless you are having so-called monopoly in either of those things at the place you stand. Freedom comes with certain wisdom and responsibilty, so does the right of “Freedom of Speech”. Be careful whoever deals in these things as they might get real sometimes and then there won’t be any virtual world to hide behind. There is limit of everything so never test those or there will be nothing to regret later( Few things are sometimes better to be left as they are)
P.S: Please don’t anyone(budhijivi) quote me as i am not referring to anyone specific and won’t be replying back as it’s too hard through mobile to type

100% agree with you Dan sir. Infact relevant to your next line, after reading the title (within minutes of it being posted) and seeing who the poster was, i didn’t even enter the topic. quiet agree to that part, provocative acts or statements in general are an open invitation to challengers and can spread malaise. As for the, we are accomodative part, and am a nobody to have indepth understanding so please excuse, then what is the via media, if any? A bit of a strenuous exercise .
