RBL bank IPO is coming on 19th, any dimer investing in it?
I personally think that it is a good by around 220rs.

Also, with the money they get, they might look to invest more in the internet boom and launch some more products for dimers.

Any comments/suggestions?

This means, apply for IPO and get assured profit whether application allotted you, or NOT, if open in discount then also you will get profit…

You into grey market stuff? Please do update the GMP of RBL so people can make decisions. Thanks

are koi ipo aaye to application laga do aur broker ko usi time sell kar do

normally application 15 k ki hoti hai aur 1000-1400 rs mil jate hai

allotment nahi aaya to 15k bank refund ho jayega aur broker de dega 1000 rs

allotment aa gaya to listing vale din share sell kar do 16 k se jayda mil gaya to broker ko de dena paisa 16 se kam hua to broker aap ko de dea

means 15k ka investmnet hota hai 12-14 din ke liye aur 1000 se 1400 rs mil jate hai per PAN CARD if u have demat account

When I see some dimers talking of stock markets, one truth prevails, they don’t even know 1% of stock markets and its working and they are not willing to learn as well.

Some comments are really lauhging stocks. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_biggrin.gif They took financial markets as a discount or cashback deals. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif

Price band is Rs. 224-225. I am skipping it as there is over-valuation in the price and I never go for listing gains because of my Long term strategy. You will get is for cheaper price after listing.

The Bank’s presence is not even near to smallest of banks and they are valuing it like they have Pan-India presence. When PNB came with IPO in 2002, they valued it at Rs. 31 only even when they had much stronger presence.

There is a saying- “In overall life, a trader creates only 5% of value while an investor creates unlimited.” History tells only long term investors have made money out of market and I am one of them.

Most IPOs have over stretched valuations but when you already know that there will be most probably listing gains (and that if you are allotted) there is no harm in applying. I have made good money in the past 18 months applying for IPOs and many have created value even over the long term (not that I wait for long but have seen them quoting at higher prices even after a year)

One reason I don’t wait for long term is because of the uncertainty in the present global scenario. It is too tough to say that all long term investments will make you money. Even Warren Buffet told the same thing in one of his talks saying that days of long term investments (he had even suggested that long term is now now more than 5 years) are long gone because of the changing dynamics.

I don’t have much experience in this but whatever stocks I follow have rose 100% and fallen 150% from their peak in matter of 12-18 months. If I had held them without selling/buying at the right time my profits would be null to negative (accounting for FD interest). Not that these companies were some random small cap ones, but rather have monopoly in the sector. Maybe I might not have picked the right stocks which qualify and I do know such scrips exist but still wary about this long term funda (right now for long term I prefer mutual funds with good track record but investments are negligible)

For me long term doesn’t mean forever. Anything between 2-5 years and it always made my fortunes. If my stock giving me say twice or 2.5x returns in say 15 months, I made exit in past. You are right that today market dynamics have changed but sooner or later it needs to be come back to where it was else one economy will lose interest in other and the investment cycle will suffer a lot. I am hopeful that traditional investing and patience will come back.

After 2008 crash it was only traders section that lost the most and many commited suicides. But as I didn’t had that approach towards market, I kept patience with my stocks bought in 2003-2005 and stayed where I was and in 2009, it turned things when Congress made re-entry. Best part is you don’t need to worry a lot if you are invested in a strong company. Even if it loses 75% of its value some day, you always have hope that it will recover back or even do better.

Due to high RII interest, initial listing is expected to be on the lower side and continue to be so till most of the RII have moved out. So it would be possible to pick up even after listing.

What’s the expected listing gains on this? 20%?

The last private bank to list was Yes Bank in 2005. The IPO price was 45rs and it was listed at 65rs with a gain of around 37%.

Today the price touched 52 week high of 1351 i.e. 30 times the IPO price.

I bought it at 62 in 2009 Jan 50 shares. That time was afraid if I had made a wrong decision and the brokers were advising it to sell. Today repenting why I haven’t bought more 😂😂

it was the way earlier when people use to apply to the highest possible limit, 1lakh initially, now 2 lakhs, but in that case small investor got screwed up, so the probability is high if you apply for a single lot.
