I recommend Redmi 1S.

Been using it from over a month now.. no problems at all..
no heating
battery is really good.. lasts over a day under normal normal use(with data/wifi ON)
camera is fantastic.. (best you can get under 10k.)

Instead of going for initial zenfone 4 (4 inch) go for 4.5 inch (newer version)

If you are ok with 512MB RAM check this …but battery is of low capacity

Redmi 1s is the best option. No problem so far, using from more than a month. Absolutely worth and better than huawei holly in. personal preference.

IMO, go for Redmi 1s… you can use nova launcher to get free space in ram more then 300mb & they are giving OTA update in every 2 weeks (latest update version is 45). I only faced heating problem with “candy crush” game, which is common in other mobiles too.. rest, it is worth for 6k, & very good if you can get it @5500 like it was available on BBD.

For looking give redmi 5 and Asus 4
Performance redmi 5 and Asus 3.5
Battery backup redmi 4 and Asus 5
Audeo sound on speaker redmi 5 and Asus 3
For touch redmi 5 and Asus 3
Display redmi 5 and Asus 3.5
Camera redmi 5 and Asus 4 also one drawback in Asus no flash.

In your requirement if you want not in big mobile then go Asus best in this leval but if you want good display and big so go for redmi 1s because best in the price and better performance.

Many complained heating issue on redmi but I didn’t get any heat problems .I bought redmi big billions day .and Asus before 10 days of bbd.

My wife is using one from last 1 and half months. She loves the camera on that thing. Sometimes i feel redmi 1S camera is better than my Mi3’s cam .battery life is quite decent too. Display and touch is very good for a 6k mobile. Redmi 1s does not feel cheap like some of the phones from Micromax and karbonn in this range.

Only grip she has with the phone is overheating. She says it heats up quite a bit during browsing. I read that Xiaomi has released few OTA updates to fix this issue. Will try to update it to see if it reduces heating.

It was available for 5500 on BBD! WTF! Should I then wait for a better price? But then is this not a registration thing? How did people buy this on BBD? Will it be in stock even by tomorrow?

Edit: Just realized that I can get it for 5400 using my sbi debit card.

I purchased this mobile during 1st sale but found the RAM management quite poor for my needs at that time hence sold it off. But trusting latest update (v45) i purchased it again during last sale for my mom and updated it straight away to v45 on receipt.
RAM management is greatly improved! No more applications getting closed automatically now! Heating was not the issue for me last time too.. and this time also I am not facing any issues with the heat.
One thing that I did noticed is that performance of this phone does starts to fall with extreme usage (going by ANTUTU benchmark results). I ran ANTUTU benchmark 3 times in a row on this phone and the scores were in following order (approx):

1. ~20500
2. ~17500
3. ~13500

But after last test I played temple run 2 on this phone and it was running smoothly. Hence I am not worried about the Antutu scores at this point!

Usage of my mom is minimal and I found the battery life of phone to be phenomenal considering its running Android. Yesterday I checked the phone and it was running for over 1 Day and 15 hours with around 37% juice still left. Standby backup on battery is simply awesome which is severely lacking on other Android smartphones!

Just one more observation – I read on various forums where few people are claiming that XIAOMI has underclocked this phone with v45 update with only 2 cores active! This is nonsense and I request everyone to not believe these bullshit comments! I checked myself yesterday using Antutu and found the CPU is still clocked at 1.6GHz with all 4 cores active!

In my view its a great phone in 6k that you can buy today!

IT IS VERY MUCH POSSIBLE THAT ITS HAPPENING..MOST OF THE TIME WE DONT KNOW ABOUT INFORMATION LEAKAGE

it gets underclocked to dual core 1ghz only if temperature shoots up (my guess its 38C)…when it comes down its back to normal
