Utilities by DealSeeker

A web-based utility to let you download your DesiDime private messages for archival.

DesiDime currently limits the number of messages in a user’s Inbox and Sent folders at 31 and 100, respectively. Once the number of messages in a user’s Inbox hit 31, his account stops receiving any further messages until he makes some space by deleting existing messages. Similarly, messages in the Sent folder are automatically pruned to keep the visible Sent messages limited to 100. Moreover, there is no automated way to get a copy of the private messages. Some users, like me, waste a lot of time and energy to manually copy-pasting their private messages for keeping a record. This utility will solve this problem.

This utility makes use of the recently launched DesiDime API to fetch a user’s messages and generate a nicely formatted HTML file for immediate download. The HTML file format allows someone to “View Source” and directly copy a formatted message for quoting in another private conversation, should the need arise.

1. All of my utilities are without any implied warranty of fitness for any purpose or use whatsoever. Use at your own risk.
2. Provide your originally registered username that you presently use to login on DesiDime.
3. Your credentials or messages are neither stored nor logged. I have designed the webapp so that I can not see your messages or passwords even if I wanted to.
4. I have specific reasons for not providing an email functionality at this moment. I might implement it in the future, though.
5. I have hosted this on a free, over-loaded server so please be patient in case there are any outages.
6. Please give your feedback and/or suggestions for improvements.

What is the User ID and password to use if I directly login using Google ID to Desidime? My Gmail ID and password are not working.

Does it actually makes any difference to an elephant or to his health/attitude if -a dog- -a cpl of dogs- a group of dogs bark seeing him passing by.. ?? Guys, just wanted to update those dimers who use their Google/FB credentials to login on DesiDime. The DesiDime API currently does not support such logins so please be patient while I try to make the PM downloader utility available for you. admin has kindly agreed to add this feature in the API.

As I mentioned in the reply to Jairaj, please do NOT try logging in with your Google/FB credentials if you do not have a regular user account (i.e. email registration) on DD.
