I tried it myself. If it’s a code for Payu’s payment page, then 1% additional won’t be applicable. I’m going to try anyway and update here.

Just saw that. So didn’t try placing the order. I actually tried adding funds to wallet and tested the code on payumoney.

Guys, I have tried all of the permutations for old accounts (both PayU and BB) and I can confirm that this offer is not valid for old users.

As confirmed by @dexter1989, this code worked for a new account at BigBasket. So two things:

(1) Code is only valid for new BigBasket users.

(2) Code should be applied at BigBasket, not PayU.

Yes, I made the same assumption because I also received the SMS. I am going to complain to BigBasket/PayU for this stupidity.

Everyone else who wasted their time on this deal should do the same. This is the only way to make sure BB/PayU will take this seriously and fix their systems. They should not send new user offers to old users or, if they do, they should at least make this clear in the message itself!
