My friend just bought this laptop and when we did the benchmark test after overclocking it with the official AMD overclocking tool… i blew the lid off the first generation core i7 that another of my friends has… The Processor and Graphics score 6.9 each on win7 ratings chart.
Ram is a little on a lesser side for a machine of this much capability but Add 4 gb of ram for about Rs 1200 (buy it from ebay or flipkart or offline and install it using many ram installing guide videos available on youtube) and you have a perfect gaming machine ready.

5.0/5.0
(Based on 44 ratings)
the price has increased to Rs 28694…but its still a nice deal… considering the fact that it can be overclocked by the official AMD overclocking tool… and then it is almost equal and in some cases better than a Core i7….
don’t know why any dimers are not commenting…

Available at snapdeal at Rs 27199/- for those who are comfortable with snapdeal.
http://www.snapdeal.com/product/computers-lapto…
And Rs 27198/- at infibeam.
Hi, can someone (or Ankit) please tell how is this better than an i5 or i7? Would appreciate feedback of knowledgeable dimers on this. Looking forward to buying one. Thanks.
i had seen that deal on infibeam earlier also but was not very sure since they don’t offer Cash on Delivery… same is the case with Snapdeal…
Actually i’m not comfortable spending Rs 28000 online using my credit or debit card…i like it Cash on delivery…that way i don’t have to think about its delivery and if it gets delayed or damaged in the process then i can just refuse to accept….
And flipkart delivery was very good… infact the courier service they use is owned by flipkart only…so no damages and the laptop came in very good packing…

@jackal
first of all this is quad core 1.4 ghz( 4*1.4= 5.6)… so it is better than a say 2.3 ghz dual core i5 (4.6)….Also Many new graphics intensive games and softwares like Photoshop use quad core processsing…
And because its AMD… u can overclock it.…without voiding its warranty… Just keep a check on CPU temperatures.. see that they don’t exceed 90 degrees… i’ve overclocked and tested it at 3.0 ghz quad core and its very stable and not much change in core temperatures(hovers aroung 75 only)… at this much overclocking it beats all i5 processors to date and even the first generation i7s… CPU has quite a decent graphic card…and also has integrated graphicss…with cross fire enabled…so that makes it even better… NFS RUN was tested…it played brilliantly…. CRYSIS 2, Battlefield 3, Dirt 3 etc were running smoothly at ultra graphics… Just get a 4gb ram extra…ull get for around 1200…and u have a perfect gaming machine ready which will play most of the modern graphic intensive games at ultra settings… and others at maybe high or medium settings…

i agree its cheaper than my deal…. but u being an experienced dimer… would u invest Rs 27500 in the hands of indiatimes… or would u just spend Rs 400 extra and get it from FLIPKART…
I personally prefer the latter… the rest is the choice of the buyer…

Yes personal preferences differ……..I just gave an extra option……..Neutral on this deal
Ok guys, Many thanks to Ankit for sharing his views and an excellent deal. I really appreciate his responses and review.
I went ahead and ordered the deal from here at 3m EMI for Rs. 25,020 using the 10% sweetie that Ebay distributed yesterday – http://www.ebay.in/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIte...
I’ll update the review when I get it. Again many thanks to Ankit. I request him to update his post, if possible, with the above link as it seems to be the cheapest (Even with the Axis and other Ebay codes). Thanks

congrats on your purchase Jackal, I believe you were looking forward to this from quite some time and you finally got a good one, not too expensive, yet with a powerful amd quad core. Try to see if it has a section at the bottom where you can replace the ram. Its better to invest 2k more and probably make the ram 8gb (4gb x 2)….but also find out if the laptop suppports 8gb. If it does, you will also need a 64 bit version of the operating system.

Ya Oliver thanks I was looking forward to a good deal within the 25-30K range. Was quite indifferent to Intel or AMD as long as the end performance was not radically different. Had an eye on the i7 models also but the money involved way off my comfort levels. So this fits in the budget atleast. Really hope performance wise too this does not disappoint and gives a good result
P.S: – My oldie HP lappie is the last stages of its deathbed. Used to give all kind of farting noises during read / write. Yesterday refused to start as the HDD was hot. Used to show me the Windows screen and shut down by itself

I too was thinking of the same Will do that in a few days after I get the laptop
cons:
battery is just 6 cell
and RPM just 5400.
other things are nothing but impressive.

The ranking should be below as per my opinion considering Quality, Aesthetics, Performance and Value for Money
ASUS
MSI
DELL
HP
SONY

mine gives a 4hr backup on movies… i guess its enough… Also u can power down the processor to increase battery life…
RPM of 5400 is standard… the ones with 7200 rpm are much costlier… i surely don’t expect them in a 25k-28k machine…
Thanks for VU:-}

farts…lol
also check up with the warranty terms, may just be worth going in for a 3 year warranty….the seller may have some info on how much it will cost. For our deal, we got it free, but I doubt anyone gives that now.

I envy you dude… Even i would’ve bought this right now BUT for the 10% coupon which i don’t have.
Guys ,
I am using this laptop for past six months,
when it comes to build quality of body and screen it is poor or just okay .
when it comes to performance, it is just a power house.
it’s not just 1.4 GHz, it has a turbo boost upto 2.1 Ghz.
there is simple application called K10STAT.
by using it you can overlock it easily to 3 Ghz.
I already mentioned you it is simply a power house.
But to unleash it’s total power you should upgrade it’s RAM .
and for those who want to check the benchmark tests of this processor

Oh dear… how i wish ebay gives me a 10% coupon this week!
try your luck in the request for coupons section…..some time back we had a few dimers (not in that section but in another thread) share their accounts
Graphic intensive games like Dirt 3, Crysis 2, Battlefield 3, Call of Duty Black Ops etc are running on Maximum graphics perfectly.
It also has Crossfire support so effectively has another 512mb graphic card added to the already existing 1gb dedicated graphics.
