I bought the “Ambrane P-202 2200 mAh” last week via paytm under the same scheme.
But they didn’t send it.
The status is stuck at “Item Packed and Awaiting Dispatch”
Why do they have these deals when all they are going to do is refund the money to paytm??
Sounds like a good deal but going by experience i think we should stick to just paying bills and recharging via paytm…

Paytm sellers have started taking 6-10 days to dispatch orders. But your patience is rewarded most of the times
You could share your experiences here: http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t... meanwhile.
AFAIK, nobody has complained of order cancellation by the Ambrane Power bank seller till now. (Shree Balaji Computers is the Ambrane Retailer on Paytm)
Tried to do a price comparison, but guess what!
These newly launched models are exclusive to Paytm!
Older models are also covered under the promocode AMB50, but since no thread was ever created on Desidime about the full set of powerbanks offered under the AMB50 promocode, make sure you check out the entire range here

The Galaxy Note 1 (N7000) has a 2500mAh battery.
Ambrane power banks are about 80% efficient (Better than other local brands, slightly less than Xiaomi, Sony etc).
Which means, a 5200mAh Powerbank should give a realistic 4160mAh (80% of 5200), which should charge your phone 1.66 times (4160/2500=1.664) while it’s on standby.
Of course, most people use powerbanks during light to intensive phone use, which means the phone’s battery is being discharged at a significant rate, so a 5200mAh powerbank should realistically charge your phone about 1.2-1.5 times.
You can double this figure for a 10400mAh power bank, and triple it for a 15,600mAh power bank. Your real-life performance might be slightly lower than these figures, since your phone’s battery must be getting old by now, and might have lost some efficiency with age.
I wouldn’t buy anything below 5200mAh for a Note 1.
The rest depends on your budget and need for portability.
Personally, I’d either get a 10400mAh Xiaomi powerbank from Flipkart or the 15,600mAh Ambrane ones from Paytm.

Yes, you can pay from your Paytm wallet after applying the promocode. At the payment page, you can choose whether to make your complete payment or part of it from paytm wallet.
This is a screenshot of the app, the desktop version has a similar layout.
good find…vns

Thanks.. Will have patience.
Wierd for paytm not to have seller ratings or atleast screen their sellers… Coz a power bank is ok. Worth the risk. But imagine the risk of buying an iphone. Btw good initiative by dimers on judging the good/bad paytm sellers…:-}

Assuming 80% efficiency (for the power bank’s 3.7V to 5V boost conversion), a 5200mAh power bank should yield usable 4160mAh (technically about 3078mAh at 5V {about 15.4Wh}, but it’s destined to be stepped down back to 3.7V in the phone so it doesn’t really matter), which might charge your 2100mAh battery from zero to 100% about 1.7 to 1.8 times (assuming additional efficiency loss while charging your battery {wouldn’t the world be a better place if everything had 100% efficiency? } ) while the phone is switched off ie. while there’s no load on the battery. If the phone battery is being simultaneously drained while charging, expect less. If your phone battery is new, you could expect a bit more.
BTW, you could just use the P1000 as a 5000-6000mAh power bank like you’re going to use your new power bank. It charges at 1A, just like the 5200mAh Ambrane models, so if you charge it 5 – 6 hours, you effectively have it at 50% of its full capacity, which is the same capacity as the smaller power bank, which will also need 5 – 6 hours for charging Plus, on days when you really need 10400mAh, all you’ve got to do it charge it a bit longer.
Buy a powerbank that charges at 2A (like the xiaomi ones) and a compatible 2A charger if charging time is your main priority (which is usually the case if you’re not charging it overnight). I have a P1000, and charging it overnight (8 – 10 hours) gives me enough juice to last the day
As for hands-on experience with the P5200 specifically, hope someone who bought it can answer your question about its performance.
Xiaomi has just launched 16000 mAh powerbank in China. So can expect this soon in India.
