Cloudtail does not sell fakes. There may be some mixing by the supplier (from which they buy it), but that can also happen when you shop offline. 
Further, French Connection clothing I bought from Amazon were are original.
And trust me, a brick and mortar store will always claim anything brought online is Fake/Substandard/First, second, third copy/Second hand etc.
→ The whole model of shopping online makes them unviable. 
As regards the discount component and stocking old items,
there is always an option to return Within 30 days for clothing. So, I would strongly recommend people to buy from Amazon at whoopy discounts.
Risk component of loosing money is low! 
Other noticeable facts,
→ Some brands clothing has been imported into India by Cloudtail itself.
This is especially true for high street retail brands.
→ “Made in China” does not mean it is fake.
Many high street brands have been resorting to getting apparel manufactured in China instead of Bangladesh/India etc since skilled manpower is easily available and the costs are lower for bulk manufacturing.
I have myself visited an apparel fair in China and they are attracting the heavyweight brands in a big way.
→ There are a few items that are “Made in EU” and that is a rare phenomenon and one should feel lucky on receiving those.
