I have recently purchased an IFB A/c, after hearing around 3 known service center fellows about negative feedback of Kenstar for A/c.. they are good as far as Air Cooler is concerned…

In fact, on service center fellow suggested me to buy Videocon, if cheaper A/C is the only criteria I have, but don’t buy Kenstar…

This is the version of authorised service center and not my own personal experience..

So, better other may confirm who have purchased this and

Negative feedback about Kenstar AC! How long ago did you ask them?

I am asking this question because Kenstar only recently entered AC market. On 22nd Jan 2015.

There is no negative review…. I got it installed….. Super cooling…… Great buy

starting from Delivery, Price, installation, performance….everything is good.

I really feel there is some sort of manipulation going on with the reviews posted on Amazon for these air conditioners. I’ve been tempted to buy an AC and have been tracking the reviews on them for a couple of weeks now. I noticed a few one and two star reviews which were verified and now removed.

Also, a couple of reviewers who’ve posted the reviews have not posted any other review. It shows as “verified purchase” but I strongly feel that there is some kind of manipulation going on. I want to purchase this AC. I have a GC of INR 2000. On purchase of this AC I shall get a GC of INR 2500. So this makes a total discount of INR 4500. Currently I do not see any cashback offers on amazon. I have the following questions -

1. Is there any way of getting more discount on this product?
2. Do you have any idea if cashbacks might come in the near future on amazon?

Received the AC. The installation is half done. Still haven’t turned it on yet.

The installation guy was very pushy in selling accessories such as stand for outdoor unit, stabilizer and extra copper pipe. The prices he was telling for these accessories were outrageous. If you buy any accessory from installation guy make sure you get a pakka printed bill from the service centre.

I am buying these accessories from market now and will call him again to complete the work.

Again its opportunity to buy @ 21000.
Is installation charges extra ?

Surprisingly, one from these profile links provided above is akshay dhoot (clearly named as username as reviewer) who is from the family of videocon conglomerate owners, plus he joined as a videocon’s head of technology a month ago, and its a very cute effort by him to promote his new line of product by reviewing his own products.

Kenstar in market from long yime. Deal with Amazon regarding selling of products completed in Jan. However I also heard bad review from many source. I am also willing to buy but still confused which one to buy.

I have bought two…but due to rennovation workl at my home…I havent yet installed it. I bought 2 X 1 Ton 5* AC’s.
Got them installed a week back. I haven’t got the chance to use them with the cold weather in Delhi.
However here are some things I have felt:
a. The cooling is not comparable to Hitachi (have a 1.1 ton Hitachi window unit) but sufficient. I havent felt the need to keep the A/C? running for more than 15 minutes at one go in last 2 weeks.
- The remote works fine. Some Amazon reviewers are saying horizontal swing button on remote isnt working. The Product Description on Amazon says “Air Direction: 2 way deflection”. Though there is button on remote for horizontal swing the model does not support it. Manufacturer isn’t claiming so as well.
- the display is fine.
- I did not notice any loud noise from compressor.
b. Asked the installation guys not to cut & weld the copper pipe in advance before agreeing to installation.

c. Saved some money by asking the installation team to install AC’s outside kenstar’s system. they still gave installation bill but I saved 300 Rs per AC installation.

d. Saved money by buying voltage stablizers from 3rd party

e. You can save money by buying compressor stand from 3rd party but i didnt do soo – did not want to go in hassle if installation folks compianed that the stand is of wrong size.

f. the technicians were fine in our area. but it depends on who comes to install. take the number of Next or kenstar service / customer center and talk to them if the technician is rude. Tell them you are asking Amazon to return the AC as the installation guys are creating ruckus. I had some queries and Kenstar folks told me if the cooling is not good we will re-fill the gas / exchange the unit. I created a cancellation request after purchasing the A/c and reading some negative review before installation. Got a call from company and saved the number and name of caller. Also made them aware of my concerns and recorded the promises they made.

just saw now..

AC giving problem lately. Auto turns off after 5 mins. The LCD display is also not readable.
