edit: currently logged in admins, please do check some of the stuff http://www.amazon.in/s/ref=sr_nr_n_2?fst=as%3Ao... that is actually getting sold and also stocked out. if this merits to be on homepage, then do so sooner, rather than later. http://www.amazon.in/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_ei...@Priyanka @desi girl @Nigel @Jammy

but few of the Dell [web search → Targus] or HP branded [web search → HP Montego] i used for few months
a couple of years back had an okay feel on the shoulders (padding).
and there was adequate water repellent lining on the relevant sides to protect against Bombay’s unpredictable showers.
there are however much better (VFM wise – value for money) options available in the local markets if one looks for them.
it is still possible to get a reasonably big (for 15+ inch lappy and change/ garments for an overnight journey) back pack with good workmanship and materials under 500-550. (i think in branded – skybags is good too).
the exact name slips my mind presently, but i think it is ‘Gala’ bags that were famous/ are famous in West India (i speak from exp. in Bombay). they are not the Gala broom/jhaadu people though. There is another well accepted local name there, whose bags you’d find on 70-80% of office going (back packer) people. but again, i am not sure of the name at the moment.
