Sweet. I have used my bro’s, mom’s, and everyone’s device to get benefited.

We have enjoyed some nice places, because we knew the 100% cashback is on its way. Never did it fail us once. There is YET another app I use that is a little buggy. And pays Rs. 10 for every bill upload (and Rs. 50 on sign up).

So what I did was simple:

I went to xxx place, ate food, took the bill and uploaded it to these two apps. If we have several apps like this, we will end up earning money. Lol. (I have checked the playstore – we don’t have many).

With that said, here’s the biggest drawbacks of Crownit:

→ You must be in the restaurant. So there was one time when we were sitting in the corner in Dominos. The bloody app fails to recognize us. LOL. It says 10 mtrs far in the app. So I had to ask everyone to come to the center and the app was finally able to locate us.

→ You must wait to redeem. The idea of 100% cashback sounds great, but you can’t redeem the points immediately. You have to wait for sometime. For example: If you make a bill of 261, you will get 261 crown points… but below you will notice ER (Eligible to Redeem).

This ER shows the points you can redeem immediately. For example: 100 or so points (if you have 261 crown points)… and with time, this ER increases. Just like clock.

Best part of the app:

→ They have Amazon voucher, flipkart, etc. Even BMS for those who are interested. Some of the vouchers can be redeemed only when the points you have is 250, 500, or so.

→ Recharge is instant. It will take 20 crown points to recharge (consider it as taxes) but you can recharge immediately (no min point limit). That’s a good part. So you have food + recharge.

→ If you eat frequently, or would like to dine out, this is a good app. Sure, it’s freakin awkward to take bill and click photos… even I thought so, but no one will know as everyone today uses smartphones

So if i get 300 crown it points , in how much time i can use all of them ?
Is the redemption partial or we can utilise all points in one transaction ?

@zafarkhan4433 – 300 crown points may take 2-3 days. I am not entirely sure as I left the app as it is on my device. I talked to them and they have this feature to “stop” frauds… because what one can do is make multiple acc, get points, then redeem it immediately. So when you have these points slowly piling up, you have to wait.

And redemption is complete. No partial or anything. You can utilize all the points instantly. But remember, for Amazon or Flipkart, you need 500+ points. For BMS, 250 points. For recharge / charity, 0 points. Hope this helps!

Good point. I never had any dine-ins restaurants offering additional discounts. So never faced any issue. Also, it doesn’t work with home delivery, in case anyone is wondering.

@krishan42933 – Crownit only wants the bill. You can go to Dominos, pick up someone’s bill and click it. And you will still get money. The only problem is: You should click within 30 min.

EGV doesn’t matter. But the point is, when you buy online for home delivery, the bill says “Delivery” – so that won’t be accepted by Crownit. How do I know? I already tried it!

We think we are looting them – but they are looting us, with such attempts to get access to our data. As they say in the startup world, data is everything – and when they know more about us, what we do, who we call, they spam the sh1t out of us.

This data-driven world is scary. I always use a basic handset (windows 7 that can’t install anything) and have android (only recently) for apps / deals.
