It is just indoor unit.. so nothing as such about specs.. costed me 17k along with carrier outdoor unit.. break up can be 9K for indoor and 8k for outdoor
The way Electricity bills have been shooting up with this surcharge that surcharge fixed charge this tax that tax and what not no wonder so many AC Deals are raining from everywhere.
Time is not far when we have to sit with doors open with a hand fan like our grannies use to or else we need to find cheaper source of power.
Voted down as this AC seems to be comparable with Videocon 1.5 ton 3 star and is available offline through a physical dealer for around 23k only. So certainly not the best price as even last year I was getting Electrolux and Videocon 3 star ACs for around 23k through offline dealers.
Finally I bought LLYOD CHILLAX LW19A2L 2 star 1.5 ton Window AC.
was looking for portable AC earlier but as I stay in 3rd Floor, So finally thought of going with window AC. This is the first purchase in which I have not done much research. Simply went to Croma first and then to another local shop and bought it.
I got it in rs.23000 (including 1.5ton AC, Stabilizer and Installation)
It has cooling capacity of 4800 and Power Consumption of 1810 watts/Hr.
So, guys how is the AC, Brand and the price!!! Please rate and provide ur views
Good thread and good discussions
Here’s my experience in the world of AC’s
AC’s owned: 2 LG Window (2 ton and 1.5 ton) and 1 Kenstar Window 1.5 ton); recently purchased split AC (details below)
Review of LG: Pro’s – Overall 4/5 stars – good cooling (of you are not comparing with Antarctica), great customer service (call them and get serviced for Rs 500 within 24-36 hrs), no issues till now for over 6 yrs (no maintenance cost other than servicing) – touch wood!
Review of Kenstar: Avoid at all costs, worst quality, main machine gave up, remote works only 1 feet from AC, cooling is good but too much hassle to gett he coolin!
Recent purchase after loads of market research: 1.5 ton split AC for 17k!!
How? I was on really low budget and required a split AC for my room; first I decided to rent it at 8k for the whole season, but that was like putting 8k int he drain and being a Dimer, I can’t see that happening!
So I started researching new and second had buying options and after a lot of research I realized that the cheaper New Split AC’s don’t have Piston Compressor! Piston compressor is the best and more durable, does far better cooling very quickly. On the other hand, all Splits in 20k-28k range have rotary compressors – read this – http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200… .
As I could not afford a new Piston Compressor split, I went for a second hand unit of Carrier, but wait, that is kept on the roof – for my room I purchased a branch new BlueStar unit (golden color, box packed).. So my AC is new for everyone as no one goes to the roof.. it cools far better and I need to keep ti at 28 during night..
Do consider all this before taking a call!
