Looks like the time has started on downgrading for Lounge Access here is another setback from HDFC Regalia Credit Card.

HDFC Bank on Tuesday said that it has tweaked some rules for its Regalia Credit Cards. From December 1, the lounge access program will be based on one's credit card spending. The credit card user should spend Rs 1 lakh or more in a calendar quarter (January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December) to get access to the lounge benefits.

This is going to happen with all of the Cards by next year with excessive crowds at Indian Airport Lounges, recently i was shocked to see the crowd at Delhi International Terminal where the crowds were similar to movie theatres in 1980's

Unable to use my HDFC Diners privilege CC in International terminal of Kolkata. Tried two times, both failed. There is no official announcement but it's not working.

This was going to happen with huge increase in travel post covid and banks giving away Credit cards to all.
I was shocked to see queues for lounge at mumbai, delhi, kolkata, chennai, Banglore airports.
Even 5 years back lounge access used to be elite thing, now its so common.

The very concept of Lounge was for Elite / Business Class travelers who would not mind paying for it, now with this kind of ambience why would a paid customer come its more crowded then a Udipi Hotel. The Youtube travel vloggers mentioning how you can have food for Rs. 2 made it more popular that i could see people who were not even sure if their Card was eligible were coming and asking by giving 5 to 6 Cards.
