Reliance Jio, Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries’ telecom arm, has commercially launch JioFiber on Thursday, the third anniversary of the Jio launch. The much-talked-about fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service has already received 5 lakh applications. JioFibers data speed will start from 100 Mbps and go all the way up to 1 Gbps.
Here are six available data plans.
Bronze @ Rs 699 - 100 Mbps - 100 GB + 50 GB extra
Silver @ Rs 849 - 100 Mbps - 200 GB + 200 GB extra
Gold @ 1,299 - 250 Mbps - 500 GB + 250 GB extra
Diamond @ Rs 2,499 - 500 Mbps - 1250 GB + 250 GB extra
Platinum @ Rs 3,999 - 1 Gbps - 2500 GB (unlimited)
Titanium @ Rs 8,499 - 1 Gbps - 5000 GB (unlimited)
The press releases says that voice, TV video calling, gaming, home networking and device security services are bundled with all data plans. Moreover, platform access for VR experience and premium content (including first day first show movies,) will be only for Diamond, Platinum and Titani
Titanium plans.
All monthly plans come with home devices (Jio Home Gateway and Jio 4K Set Top Box). JioFiber users will also have access to 3, 6 and 12 month plans.
With JioForever annual plan, users can get the following:
Jio Home Gateway
Jio 4K Set Top Box
Television Set (in Gold plan and above)
Subscription to your favourite OTT apps
Unlimited Voice and Data
Reliance Jio is planning to reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments across the initial 1,600 towns, to offer affordable television services, gaming, mixed reality and fixed-line voice calling access
Ott service on 3 month free
Data plan is for Internet only or For watching TV too ?
Apparently, they are not going to provide DTH service, they have only partnered with local players and will be providing us with a free 4k set top box.
The base plan 699 should have bundled 10GB /day or 300GB monthly limit… Also don’t like the 1MBPS FUP …it should be atleast 10MBPS.. 1MBPS is like getting 100-200KBPS in the end… The typical 2mbps-5mbps from various broadband providers has 512kbps FUP… and here 100MBPS plan is limited to 1MBPS FUP.. In your 32" or 43" TV you will be steaming atleast 720p videos or more on bigger size…So typical Hollywood movie will consume 1-2GB of data. Or guessing daily 3-4 hrs of content will consume 6-8 GB daily data. 10GB/daily or 300GB Monthly and 10MBPS FUP could have been great on safer side for normal usage.
There is no mention of any separate TV transmission service to compete/substitute the DTH services, as contemplated earlier. Its just an ultra high speed broadband service with only internet based high tech functions.
+1…
Set-top box will be given for hatching EGGS…
OTP not coming
So many times tried
am i missing something these plans are not attractive in major cities, what would one do with such speeds and get so less bandwith, with FUP of 1mbps this ilooks like better to stick with current ISP
100Mbps and 100GB is definitely the wrong combination @ Rs.800+ (including GST)
If you utilize data at full speed, it will take just 4 hours for complete data exhaust.
They want to highlight that they are providing 100mbps, thats it. I feel Act is much more better than this. Please wait for couple of months other vendors also increase the speed
If it is IPTV (n not DTH), wonder how long it would take to exhaust 100GB balance streaming a 4K TV Channel (If there’s any) ??
Edit: Those who think this is a good deal (for the base plan), also consider the amount of time you watch the TV and the Quality u prefer (720p/1080p)
Naame bade darshan chote nikle is baar.
All hype gone into vain
Arre, Oonchi dukaan pheeka pakwaan…
None of the plans are attractive considering the prices and fup limit, there are other isp in metro cities providing 40-50 Mbps U/L Without fup for 700 per month which is 1000 times more attractive as 100 GB Data is nothing if one uses IPTV and other Streaming Services at FHD. Currently Using Spidigo 8 Mbps UL for effectively 480 per Month. and my monthly usage is around 600 GB Just imagine usage when it will be 100 Mbps
Please read Tnc for getting 4k tv you need to pay 1,01,000 rupees , Its trap
