This argument is sound and is termed something like ‘Rationality assumption’ in Economics. But even economists admit – and concede – openly that this assumption does not necessarily hold in practice/reality…due to nature of human behavior & psychology, which often works on feelings like fear and greed (remember stock market?)…

So Motivation vs Logic can dominate in differing ways in different contexts and turn the result either way..but as a firm believer in statistics and probability, I would still guess that the majority would not be pursuing a ‘cheap’ deal like this:)

btw, I being more of a rational dominant style person, I would strongly agree with your logic/argument that such cheap deal should trigger serious thinking whether its worth the effort et al…But then just for the fun / excitement part of it or due to shopaholic tendencies operating probably in sub-conscious, I too have gone ahead and bought this deal – and in 2 paytm accounts including a credit card payment in one a/c:);-}
