Hight of price hike
Actually Lenovo T420, T430 series are top notch if you have skills to replace components and upgrade PC. Pre Covid the same models (Singapore imported) were only around 14K. But during Covid the resale costs shot upto 18 K.
Even then if u get these around 16K with good quality grab them and upgrade. These laptops have great resale quality.
The new batch of Lenovo are way inferior in terms of battery and build quality. Lot of corners cut by Lenovo once it was fully handed over to China by IBM. They are just looting premium pricing in the name of Lenovo. Useless now.
bro do u know which generation of intel processor been going on now ?
even chrome books are better than this shit.
Scraped laptop selling on Amazon as renewed .
Stay away from such fraud sellers.
Too old not worth.
4 gb ram is useless
don’t trap in ancient thing
as a happy user of a refurb elitebook 840 g1 and a old toshiba c640, just wanted to chime in to say that these are good if you know what you're doing. These older laptops have amazingly great serviceability.
people saying these are relics are those who have been sold into whatever marketing Microsoft or the tech media has been selling. Both my machines work better than my 8th gen inspiron. I'm not buying new laptops any more. Yes there are issues which the manufacturers will claim (eg the toshiba said it could not support windows 10, but it worked just fine except the Bluetooth/WiFi which got fixed when i put in an Intel 7260 AC chip)
ddr3 ram (not ddr3l) is dirt cheap, you can get 8-16gb for peanuts. And an SSD will make it just as fast for everyday tasks.
and the most important. Older laptops mostly had seperate keyboard assemblies. If your keyboard died, what was once a 700 rs replacement keyboard and 5-10 minute job involves replacing the entire top half of the keyboard chassis. It costs 5-8k, and takes several hours as you need to take the whole thing apart.
saying these are crap just shows your ignorance. Anyway it's fine. It keeps them cheap for those of us who know the true worth and how to maintain them
1 major problem in India though I'd that parts are hard to get. In US, everything is available on eBay. Using eBay parts i upgraded my screen to full HD IPS, got the discrete gfx version motherboard so i could play games, got a 256 mb transcend 2230 SSD on Amazon with a dram controller to stick in a slot where a 16gb acceleration drive used to sit. Backlight keyboard... Literally everything. Here you're lucky if you item is there on Amazon or xfurbish, or if you live in a major city, your local electronics shops
i use mine to run large powerbi queries to do data quality checks and matching and it runs much faster than my office machine with a 10th gen cpu. Probably because the stock SSD is crap.
In the world of electronics and computer components the value depreciates really fast whether it’s new or renewed/refurbished. This is an Intel 2nd gen stuff and what we are at is almost at the doorstep of 13th gen. This should be sold for max not even 5k but our beloved sellers but for a few have no intention to price it rightly.
how can someone post this
windows7 for 18+ and that too renewed

Hi guys, I seek your opinion.
I am stuck with a MSI laptop. In just 2 yrs of usage, it has an internal damage which requires the keyboard to be replaced. The expense quoted from service centre is Rs.6.5k+. After I pay them, they will order the part. They don't have a timeline because they say that some parts need to be imported if they are not available in India.
Do you guys know if it is possible to find such laptop's parts in large computer markets such as Nehru Place?
Read a lot about Nehru place but never visited. But if there is any place where u can find spares, its there. Try searching for tech youtubers who discuss about that area.
Also try posting in some reddit page related to MSI India.
Thanks guys. Will visit Nehru Place once to look around.
