Update on Fi.money app: After getting my card I tried to use the card on international websites to take advantage of zero forex rate. Surpisingly every international transaction other than Paypal gets declined even Google Play transaction won’t go through. This app is a fucking scam they advertise zero forex rate but they don’t allow to purchase from international websites. Please don’t open this account for zero forex rate. you will get fooled.

Why people are interested in these neo banks with no physical branches. I opened fi money account 2 days ago only to find out they didn’t assign me to the nearest federal bank to my home. Also no option for cash deposit and cash withdrawal using withdrawal form. There is no netbanking facility only mobile app allowed no desktop version.

PostPe is a new Buy Now, Pay Later product from the makers of BharatPe, which will be taking over PMC Bank. MasterCard “prepaid” card available with pre-approved credit limit. Full launch in September. Neobanking might be in the pipeline.

@kipte.khoka Finin has 3.5%-5% interest rate (State Bank of Mauritius) and LTF debit card. But it has stopped new signups for 3 months now. Might be getting acquired or shutting down.
Jupiter has 2.5% interest and LTF debit card. But not all PIN codes are covered, unlike Niyo.
Mool.one might launch in a month or two. They sent me an email with screenshots of app in development. They have also partnered with State Bank of Mauritius, so their interest rate might also be 3.5%-5%. They promise no account fees.

Niyo team seems to be off the ground and further along than most with lucrative incentives. Biometric KYC was painless and free card issuance is cool.
Fi-money looks slick but is the most selective, requiring intrusive work/salary info and even checking your PF contributions.
Instantpay offers 1% unlimited cashback on their debit card and API integrations – a complex product. Physical card for individuals costs Rs. 365/year. Pay Later product coming soon. More of a RazorpayX competitor.
Fold.money’s mission statements look promising and I have a good feeling about them + they’ll move you to the front of the queue for the Fold card if you’ll talk about your finances & spending, for 15 minutes on the phone.
Finin has stopped taking new users at the moment.
Jupiter’s Firstlist is a glorified referral program. Their vision looks very ordinary for the segment.
Mavrik announces lofty ambitions when you land on the site. But other wise their site and features read like fluff with no USP.
