I think you'll get the CB because yesterday I got the message for eligibility. Do the transaction and check the statement next month 😉
No cashback for other credit card and 0.5% - 1% surcharge on few cc like Onecard, RBL, Yes Bank.
How u got to know MCC code?
It's definitely not under Utility MCC anymore because for I am getting cb confirmation msgs on my Axis Ace for all transactions even for utilities.
If anyone has Millennia prepaid card here do try the transaction it the show the MCC code on screen.
Just did 2 txns via SBI will check here after few days to confirm that under which category the Airtel Money / Airtel Bank spends are getting categorized.

Used SBI card (100 for test), money debited but not added to apay balance "failed", let's wait for refund...
EDIT, airtel wallet balance shows the 100 money loaded as balance, payment for apay money failed...

Tried with almost all credit cards and same Airtel Payments Bank Limited is showing everywhere. One thing is clear for now that cards that give RP on Wallet Loads are useful now for this.
Also a TIP : Every payment gateway has a daily maintenance window, so the merchant switches to alternative one for that period (some hours)... try finding out that window for RazorPay... @KingRocks
Also, many subsequent failed transactions make the switch to alternative gateway sometimes...
Just loaded with Merchant ID "AIRTEL" from airtel thanks app, EDIT : Then added to apay money...
SBICard Txn : "AIRTEL Gurgaon IN" , SimplyClick shall give 1.25%
People you can try now, maybe get payU gateway and "AIRTEL" merchant id...
I paid cc bil through amazon got airtel payment bank as merchant

tried both ways..
- direct Amazon load via Airtel Netbanking (Airtel a/c #1)
- Airtel Wallet load via Airtel Thanks app (Airtel a/c #2)
Today, after seeing your thread, had tried at different times of the day and got "airtel money" or "airtel payments bank"... So this is some circumstantial evidence to suggest something, right? (...gateway maintenance, remember?)
Just now tried again with 2 different airtel accounts 
2 different cards.. Infact I used different IP address also 😂 Still, No Luck.!

Got Airtel finally on Airtel Thanks on 2nd Txn.
1st Txn : 200 - *Raz Airtel Money
2nd Txn : 5422 (Limit left from 9k) - Airtel - PayU Gateway
Did both transactions via Axis Ace got 2% CB 😄
Trying more will update soon, till then keep trying your luck via Airtel Thanks app.

Login to Airtel Thanks app > Add Money > Check Merchant Name on Payment Page / Otp sms
Load Airtel Wallet balance to Amazon A/c using Airtel Netbanking / Pay other CC Bills directly on Billdesk using Airtel Netbanking

What's the easiest way to find mcc code of merchant?
That's the only way I know to find exact MCC code.
Other than that you can try with SBI / Onecard to see merchant type in Spend Analyzer.

Did 2 transactions just now and both had Airtel Money as Merchant name and Razorpay as gateway, for the 2nd txn of ₹210 I opted for "Complete Payment on Bank's page" and there also AIRTEL PAYMENTS BANK LTD was showing so clearly the end of this trick.
