Are you porting out of airtel because of the price hike. If so, to which network?

180030001593 / 180030001571 / 18001801503 arbitrarily refuse to be connected on VI.
Their voice support shuts at midnight.
Even otherwise VI customer support is a bit too erratic, depending on region.

BSNL is a total no nonsense, no surprises or hidden terms… when it comes to tarrifs.
BSNL literally took a custom nametune/name request which wasn’t in their existing repository.
They launched 4G in rural areas. Directly migrating the 2G signals there to 4G.
Since 95% of all operations of BSNL are in private hands/vendors.. sometimes the customer support is bit difficult.
But BSNL does address complaints (routine network related, service disruption issues) in a tight timebound manner or else the ones locked via their site get auto escalated.

18002801503 connects from any network to a human, if one knows the tricks to choose the right IVR options.
BSNL still has issues with certain service providers. So there still is no real way to connect to 0091-22-30430101 / 18003001571/ 180030009027 / 180030009024 from a BSBL mobile number.

For a non data centric user like me, who wants complete transparency and flexibility.. R-Jio is just not an option.
I wouldn’t use R-Jio as a commode🚽 even if I had diarrhea.
SIM only works properly in SIM1 slot.
SIM becomes practically useless if it cannot fetch 4G signals. Exceptions on international roaming apart.

Line2 and second SIM services get heavily impacted if Jio SIM hogs data services.

Jio SIM seizes to work if data servives are turned off.
Tbeir voice support has an attention span and intellect of a toddler and never are their calls really recorded for monitoring later on.
Their policies are either to make the Cx lick their posterior for even a simple network complaint or disconnect the call by annotating that the customer disconnected the call.

Jio has zero minus transparency about validities, outgoing tarrifs if no unlimited combo subscribed to.
So unlike a BSNL or AVOID of yesteryears who permited call, messages, data by charging to bill or to prepaid balance.. Jio just seems unfair.
The uselessly crappy system of call collect lines like 1860×××××× still easily connect on Jio network, without being billed as chargable number.

Airtel, for all its other idiosyncrasies.. in my experience with a friend of mine from other circle and in the past two years for my own numbers.. has had EXCEPTIONAL customer grievance redressal for most of the routine complaints.
Like I’ve personally got call backs even two days after successful resolution of complaints. These are feedback calls and cross check calls to ensure if customer issue is really solved and to the customer’s satisfaction.

Dialling 18001031111 and navigating the IVR correctly.. gets one easily connected to Airtel human support … even from a non Airtel number.
Airtel, BSNL, Idea also always had tbe regional 10 digit numbers too, for the Cx to call on.
Till recently even 18001234567 used to connect fairly easily to Idea human support.
But now too difficult unless one has actually ported IN.

The CUG or such bulk/ family plans like Airtel Black or such… work well for rate fixing for a year and nominal discounts.

Airtel is being moronic in stopping nametunes, in so far as I know.

With data or OTT needs, holding a R-Jio connection is fully worthwhile/ paisa vasool.

So in our use case scenario… it really doesn’t make much sense to play inka pinka ponks.
BSNL remains the Allah ki gaai type options.
In most circles, their unscheduled maintenance/ sudden outages are now almost gone.
R-Jio might offer good value added services.

But forcing to only work in main SIM slot and on 4G only (when on R-Jio network).. make Jio unworthy in many cases.

Airtel customer support, even post midnight is amazing or at-least above average.

VI offers unmatched data rollover benefits and night time calling on same network… even in the now ₹128 plan.

Better to hold position and maintain status quo in my case.
Tariff changes by itself isn’t reason enough for me to port.
Two of my BSNL numbers are primarily oy used for the custom NAMETUNE which BSNL recorded (using the corporate name we gave).
Service quality and grievance redressal… rather than average tarrifs .. are my key motivations.

I am porting out my father Vi number to jio. Now all my family will have Jio number. Why would spend Rs299 when I am getting the same in 199 from+ additional 98 plan for 14 days. I know jio will also raise tariff price but as long we are getting cheap from plan jio, there is no harm in staying in jio network. Just check which operator offers better internet speed to your location. I get good net speed from Jio & Vi while BSNL & Airtel is worst in my area even having full 4G signal.

+1.

We have to see at present who is giving good service at lower price and make use of it.
Now a days loyal to particular network / long years relationship doesnt give any added value. (may be atleast in my case).

Even if we come to know that the network we are using is not upto the mark / degraded their service day by day, we have the option to port out (min 90 days between two port outs)

We have to see which network is suitable according to the area of use….
