[Alert] Vodafone Idea(Vi) Fraudulent/Unauthorized Transactions

Recently I was charged several times from my main balance on my Vi number incorrectly, they were all unauthorized deductions. I checked other Vi family numbers, surprisingly they were charged too.
Looks like someone is trying to exploit a potential loophole.
Got this message,

For other deductions I was not even notified, but found out from customer care that I was charged.

Though the name changed their useless behaviour never changes/changed. It is through out the network.
So this is how they are clearing their pending dues with TRAI
They charged in more than 50+ rupees number of times in the name of VAS in 2018 and even few months back happened same.so I turned off the SIM itself

Same happened with me also in last year. More than 400 rupees deducted and almost more than 75% of amount recovered after fighting with customer care each time. All were charged for VAS.
After that I never keep main balance. Only do the unlimited plan directly. Mine is Vodafone prepaid.

No, they are blaming us for the charge, by saying we accepted it. As stated, VAS services can only be refunded within 24 hours only, but I wasn’t notified until I checked my account balance, which was too late.
Decided to port based on this reply. Who does even use these VAS services in this era where everything is available for free?
Happened with me and family numbers… So decided to move out of Vi as it becomes frequent… Now I have done last recharge using main balance… Once done will do port… Good luck Vi!!!
Same here, using 10digi to get 10% discount with promo code PORT10 (credits – @Ash-D) on porting as well.
Same is happening with 2 of my Vi numbers ..also cant find any way to deactivate this..if u call on 198 it says currently no VAS is active on ur number..

Yes, the same deduction many times. I was charged around 150 and customer care not helping
my main balance is around 1500 I don’t know how to utilize.
You can recharge using main balance for 1 year plan, that way there will be no amount left to deduct.
They (VI) have to pay their dues and so they are using their super special NINJA TECHNIQUES to get money out of your pocket.
Happened with me once.
Wrote to cc they reversed since then never happened a single time.
Yeah, it’s really messed up for Vodafone Idea, they should terminate VAS altogether immediately.
Such deductions are happening in my Vi nos. particularly Vodafone ones on a regular basis since March. Most recent was on 24th November for 99. But since I had it switched off for over a month they couldn’t resort to their favourite game of victim-blaming. Nodal Apellate refunded and in light of frequent deductions initiated the process to blacklist the no. for VAS services. Ironically 48 was deducted the very next day! Contacted Apellate again for refund. I continue to keep my Vi nos. switched off most of the time.
Refunded today. Escalating to Nodal Apellate seems to be the only solution nowadays.
This fraud is being perpetrated by Vi (Venally Incompetent ) itself.

Jio use karne k baad Unauthorized VAS Activation k problem se kab ka durr ho gaya hu.
yaha comments padhne k baad feel ho raha ha Airtel or VI wale “Bronze Age” me aaj bhi ji rahe ha aur hum Jio wale “Modern Age” me.
Jio 4G se cheaper bhi hai aur Download speed bhi acchi hai Airtel 4G mein. Vodafone mein abhi bhi 3G tower hain. Toh abhi apne puraane mobiles chal rahe hein is badolat 😊
Yesterday Rs.21 got deducted from main balance for VAS service which i never activated. I neither got any notification in Vi App nor any SMS. My balance got deducted previously also about 2-3 times in past 1 year. If you have main balance and wouldn’t check it on regular basis then you wouldn’t come to know about such fraud deduction. I send them a mail for reverting the deducted amount, lets see !
Lucky! In 3 of the most affected nos. 2-3 deductions in a month. Since March itself total deduction across all Vi nos. amount to 1.5-2k. Managed to recover 80-85%.
I am maintaining zero balance now as lot of deductions were happening
Now I get flash msgs like, we are trying to deduct money for blah blah, so recharge
I have the same experience when am using Idea network. I was charged for international calls showing some numb in dialed list. But i nvr made any cals to those numbs. Finally they denied that there was no technical issue from their side and i finally ported to jio.

I have 11 IDEA sims with totally above RS 6000 main balance. No unauthorized deducted from .
No way to verify if anyone was actually charged unless you call customer care, I would advice you to utilise the balance immediately. You might be lucky till now, but maybe not for long.
Gali Gali mein shor hai, AVoId wale chor hain, they can activate any random service and deduct money, lost around 400-500, My main balance was about 1200, now it came down to 600, planning to port from these chor company, may be BSNL, Really missing Aircel and Uninor
What is PayG service? I also got a message that your PayG service has been disabled due to insufficient funds.
Are they activating these services so that they can reject port out requests?
PayG stands for ‘Pay On The Go’, which literally means to pay for the services you use as you use them, when there’s no plan activated. When you use data services without any active data plans, they’ll deduct amount from your balance as per usage. If this is disabled, you simply tell them not to offer services without any active plan. Even if this is disabled, you can still use call and SMS services, for which you’ll be charged as per usage, but data will be restricted to that number.
No this is completely not related to porting, no one can stop you from doing that.
@mastervijay @Thunder766 Nearing 2 months and no auto-debits in any of my Vi nos. Last time around Nodal Apellate accepted that the issue was on their end and blacklisted my nos. for VAS. Its not permanent though. In case of any auto-debits they assured that they will be there to assist. I think the clincher was that I had kept the nos. switched off for weeks on end. So no question of any consent being taken.
No deductions in 2 more months with the exception of a single-digit one in 1 no. which was refunded promptly.

I had to fight with cc with same vas Charges and got them to finally disable all vas .. now whenever they try to do this chori I get this message.

Looks like someone is trying to remotely activate some VAS services on your number through some unidentified Vi loophole/bug. These scammers are milking this since a long time, and Vi has done nothing to fix it. I think they should restructure their age old systems or eliminate VAS altogether.
Same happened to me…those rubbish customer care said..it was From customer end…Customer himself activated that service…shame of these liars
