Does by doing bill payments n Amazon Pay,Millenia CC offer 5% cashback?
what does this mean in Tnc "• Spends beyond the capping of 1,000 shall not be considered for CashPoints posting."
So currently, for Amazon all of the following accrue 5% cashpoints? Please confirm...
- aPay balance load (through 3rd party like uber)
- aPay gift card (direct from amazon site)
- aPay bill payments (any type of bill)
- Regular amazon shopping (any item)
Max total spends for 5% = 20,000/month and max 5% cashpoints = 1000/month (total for 5% partners)
For smartbuy, there is separate quota of 1000/month credited directly to statement and max amazon gv=10,000. Also 1% as cashpoints (this has a separate quota of 1000/month), so effective discount = approx 6%
Calculation:
Price of GV=100+Fees=101.47 (face value=100)
Cashback=5.07(smartbuy)+1.01(1%)=6.08
Net CB%=(6.08/101.47) * 100 = 5.9 %
The main problem with HDFC millennia cc is, it's very hard to calculate the CB received and corelate with the txns. So if any loophole is closed, to realize that it will take months. Also not to mention the time wasted in keeping on calculating the points and txns.
If this was 10% it was worth the effort, like it was happening last year. It was 10% for amazon gv via smartbuy. Currently millennia 5% should be used only if no other similar options are there for one.
I didn't know that HDFC Millenia also gives 5% CB on Bill Payments from Amazon, for all those months I have been using Amazon Pay ICICI Credit Card for 2% and now will use HDFC Millenia for future purchases, including bill payments and gift card
@LightYagami Yes, I think it should be lesser considering face value of GV, please share your formula for a complete understanding...
@shraaj Better to use GV as bill pay 5% is a big loophole and high chance of getting closed... GV can be used for normal purchases too, so maybe they are allowing that, but should not be for regular bill payments.

@agnivo007 Quick question: Do we get 5% on direct insurance payments through amazon on millenia cc....if yes,what's the limit of cb received and is that limit merged with other 5% cb category like flipkart?
It's an open bug as we know till date, limit shared with 5% partners - counted as Amazon spend (1000/month). Bug may get closed for buying aPay GV/aPay bill payments any day... @Hanish_Ochani
So would you recommend doing it.. directly paying through cc or buying gc from hdfc gytr?
Have you used up all 5% quota (20k spends)? Then adjust accordingly using remaining amount through gyftr or pay directly through apay. @Hanish_Ochani

Honestly saying, haven't yet paid a single bill from apay directly using millennia ever... also I notice merchant name is "AMAZONUTILITIES" these days for such cases on OTP page...
Also, your RP for this txn will be calculated on 2nd May I think, so next statement... Check the billing period previous and earned RP table...
Will check and update if I get post 2nd May in my NetBanking unbilled Rewards or if it comes in my next statement which will be on 18th May, as already I said I don’t use this card at all, so won’t be tough to know 👍
Also is the #2 AGV buying direct from amazon still working? Might be useful as Smartbuy charges processing fees
