I recently discovered that I didn’t get 5% cashback on shopping on NON-linked Amazon prime account.
I think I got 2% on purchases.
Can anyone confirm this?

@manishperiwal.slg214 What you observed is 100% correct.

You will only get 5% cashback only on the account through which you applied for the credit card. If you move to another account by moving your registered mobile number to a new account and also update the registered email address on the credit card to the one with which new account was created, you will still get 3% cashback even if the new account is PRIME. You will only get 5% cashback if the old account is Prime.

I learned about this major drawback yesterday and I am going to close my Amazon ICICI credit card so that I can apply for it again when I get the promotion on my new account (most probably after 180 days). I verified all this by checking the reward points credited for the transaction(s). pensive

If you click on recent transactions it shows how much cashback it earned on that transaction

Thanks.
But why are you cancelling the card. Given that it’s life time free and it’s useful.
Why don’t you make the linked account prime. I am going to do the same.

So you mean irrespective of whichever prime account I shop. My original linked prime account has to be PRIME.

I cannot use the old account since it was US based and I was using it for Amazon India too and that started caused problems for me off late. I had applied for the card from that account only. So the reward points started getting created in that account even though I moved to a new account. That old account is not prime anymore, so I am getting only 3% cashback on Amazon purchases. sad

I tried all that. Spoke to customer care of both sides. Amazon folks simply throw the ball into ICICI’s court saying the card is issued and managed by them. ICICI says that transfer of account is not possible.

i faced the same issue, and discussed with customer care, they send the policy changed, now going forward 5% cashback will be on the account used.
This is the first month on using card in different account. So have to wait for billing cycle.
