Any one here suffering from OCD or ADHD?
Hi All,
I am suffering from severe ADHD since 2019 and taking medications for it but seem not much effect yet, recently visited a health care person and he informed that due to me being careless about ADHD, I am slowly developing OCD within me. I didn't paid much attention back then cause the course they were suggesting to get enrolled was damn expensive and I thought it might be not worth paying that much amount for mere small issue but now feeling like it's been increasing or maybe it's just that health care person playing with my mind to make me enroll for the course.
I took their consulting service felt good and was quite affordable xD
Was just wondering If someone going through same thing here on DD too
P. S : If someone finds this thread irrelevant or useless, please feel free to ignore it or If you want to more satisfy your mind & heart & just ignoring don't work for you. you can vote down and move on. Thanks.
Course is an offline one in the nearby local private mental health center and asking 18K for 4 months, I attended only consulting there for Rs 600 just to check what exactly it is.

Take K2 MK-7 with it.
Just because of your comment I consulted with a doctor.
And she recommended to take 60,000 IU once a week. (Cipcal sachet)
After seeing the test results and seeing it's in reference normal range I did not pay much attention / need to consult a doctor. My bad.

Just an update.
I'm just fed up with my depression and ADHD.
I stayed nearly 2 months without meds but as it's a vital time for me and can't waste a single day feeling down soooo, starting the meds again.
Doc recommended to start fluoxetine at 40 mg and reduced bupropion extended release to 150 mg stating it would not cause stomach problems anymore.
And one more thing , don't make mistake like me , don't discontinue medicine just because you feel like discontinuing it.
Doc said it will take another good 3-4 weeks to kick in.(be effective)
Bro does your doctor have license to write methylphenidate, remember only very doctors have the license or permission to write this med, and sometimes dr are selfish to not refer to the ones who have. The meds you wrote are for depression and may not be effective for adhd, 10 20% improvement is as bad as no improvement. Depression, OCD, ADHD have their own treatments.
I am myself suffering from severe form of ADHD and general anxiety and anxiety induced hyperhidrosis since birth without any treatment. It hurts badly when you have brains to do what ever you want but can't do it because of adhd. I have taken appointment from nimhans, I will go and talk to dr.

Usually works just fine for me.

Repeating their last action for no reason else they feel frustrated 😔
Cleaning feet that hurts I do that for 45 min sometimes

If you have not consulted doctor, do that soon as this works wonders on early stages.
There are therapies plus medicines that make OCD manageable. Sooner the better.

It's best to take it in the morning, preferably with milk or after food.
Must take K2-MK7 with it too. Your doctor may not have told you this.

She did not tell anything about k2-mk7 .
But there's no harm in taking it so I will take.
Sad thing about bupropion xl 150 is most probably in sun pharma's formulation they have made some changes to the excipients.
These are some agents which is responsible for prolonged release of the med in stomach.
This is why I'm having stomach pain . (Yesterday I had this issue for nealy 5 hours, after taking the med)
Earlier I did not have this issue.
I will take sun pharma's bupropion xl today after lunch.
Will see if the issue persists. If issue persists will throw the med in bin.
If sun pharma's doesn't work will switch to other pharma's bupropion.
And still if that doesn't help I will have to quit bupropion altogether, Only medicine which made my life better.
Can't switch to SR as 150*2 will be too much for me. wish 75/100 mg sr was available in India.

Exactly, as @Original mentioned these are some of the thoughts which run through our mind all the time. Sorry couldn't write much last few days since I was confused within myself with the stuff happening.
I also that have lock OCD along with many others thoughts, where I check doors, locks multiple things after locking. At some point of time, these thoughts take so much over me that If I am traveling somewhere for few days or weeks or more I take a photo of the locked door along with the time stamp with in my mobile just to provide relief to my thoughts, there are many more along with it, like I can't count the numbers (No, I am not illiterate but by not able to count means lets say i count 1,2,3,4,5,6 then my mind will be like I think I only count till 4 and will count 5,6 again then again my mind will think that no I didn't count 5,6 properly I need to count it again and again and again and this keeps happening in loop, we call it compulsion or ritual and If we don't do it we feel heavy anxious, full of fear, overwhelmed and no matter what we need to do that thoughts we do cause it becomes uncontrollable for us cause there is possibility that If we don't control the first thought a second then third and then fourth thought will keep popping in our mind and we won't be able to control anything, it's easy to say ki yaar this is kuch bhi aisa nah hotha but trust me you will lose all the mental and physical energy you will have in trying to control this, person with OCD can relate to this
saurabh1 wrote:No worries and Thank you broSorry brother. I can't disclose the medicines that were prescribed by my doctor as those were falling under NDPS Act and required stamp of the issuer (pharmacist) that xx number of pills have been issued against this prescription.
That being very sensitive information, I can't share the name.
I wish you all the best for the recovery. Just follow up with the doctor regularly. Don't miss out on medicines (forgetting once/twice is okay). But do not avoid taking medicines. Regular follow up with doctor is important.
Remember, money is important too. But, if you can be more stable with the treatment, you can earn much more money than what you're spending on treatment.
So, get treated, earn more money.

I know one case in neighbourhood where person diagonsed with ocd was dead.
He suddenly started thinking that he has some breathing problems.
He used to continuously focus on his breathing all the time.
(May be due to fear of death/due to covid, I don't know how ocd person thinks, I am not sure)
He died few months after ocd diagnosis. but his family claimed that it was due to covid.
I also have some breathing issues but not sure If that is related to OCD. That's why, despite being a decent - good striker during college days I am playing as goal keeper for our bank team lol xD
b4tm4n wrote:In my case, no I don't share these with my parent, it's just between me and my doctor.
People with OCD/ADHD,
do you share your depression/thoughts with your family/closed ones on regular basis?
are they aware of your condition?
or you just interact with your doctors directly?
ZNZ wrote:+1, Have been taking them for more than a year now, reasonable priced, doesn't require prescription and works well.If you're dealing with mild ADHD, Himalaya Mentat tablet helps massively.
goofydimer wrote:+1, Completely agreed with you bro. Have stopped using social media a long time back for the same reason. Trying to minimize use of cell phone and internet these days, since all work being completely depend on them it's quite difficult to 100% avoid them in this era, hence trying to them only during work hours and turn them off in the evening to start them next day in the morningAll these gadgets, internet & social media distractions adds up to the cause of ADHD and OCD . Keep it to a minimum, else it becomes more invasive.
Try doing Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) with these books https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Books-Cogni... first , if not helpful try reaching to a CBT therapist at your location/area.
A combination of daily journaling, Meditation ( Vipassana or any other forms) & exercising( yoga) with healthy food reduces the symptoms a lot. Wishing a healthy recovery ahead!!

I researched on this topic for months if not years.
Please keep following your doctor and online advise.
Medibuddy gold membership have some good doctors, remote consultation was at par with offline doctors. I pray for your fast recovery 🙏
It seems to be quite active. Once again thanks bro.

Happy to see that people are coming out to speak openly about these issues. That's a welcome change, help should be taken without hesitation wherever it is needed

For what I have learned after my recent visit to that person, it is like a pattern a person follows again and again. It is a pattern of fear and thoughts that causes or leads us to take action. If ABC fear kicks in, then an OCD person follows XYZ patterns that his own mind has created for him, and if it doesn't, then that fear boosts like a rocket.
I had observed such things happening within but never paid much attention because, like every other OCD person, I used to follow a XYZ pattern to get temporary relief for myself.
During my recent visit, they gave us a diary with many sections, similar to a self-help diary. If fear (obsession) kicks in for ABC, we need to write down the trigger (what happened around that time when that fear kicked in), and finally, "If fear kicks in for ABC, what is the repetitive action (compulsion) you do to get out of that fear?" Let's say I write XYZ.This allows us to track which fears are triggering, when they usually trigger, and what compensatory behaviors, i.e., compulsion, we are engaging in to break free from the obsession.
I have recently discovered OCD within me with the help of that doctor. I don't know much about it yet, since it's just been a week. But, whatever that doctor said, I agreed with him because I have been observing this repetitive behaviour for many years within me, even before losing my job in the pandemic.
@kukdookoo @kartikxxx @ZNZ
The exact same thing happened to me. This all started back in the year 2019, (maybe it was there before that as well since they say mostly it comes from childhood, but maybe I wasn't very educated about it before). Later that year, the pandemic occurred, and I lost my job; I mistook it for depression and assumed that it would go away once I regained my job.I got the job, and now it will be gone in a few weeks once I spend some time in the environment, but nothing changed, everything was temporary. Once I disconnected from the job environment and came back home, all this stuff used to travel with me. I feel like crying even while typing these, because it is very painful stuff, Some people think it's all maan ka behm, but it's not like mental diseases exist.
I'd like to share a story with all of you. When I was in school and used to go to private coaching there, I had a good physics professor who used to tell us a story about a man who lived in a foreign country and was able to see a lot of humans around him, The people he used to see were either alive or had lived on this planet before, but he didn't know how to differentiate who was real and who was an illusion, so he had three people with him all the time. If all three say yes, then only he used to talk with that person.
I shared this incident. Yes, mental diseases exist, but it's not always maan ka beham.
