Choose desi brand!

Two sada / namkeen jeeraย paranthas, a dallop of ghee/butter on top and two cups of tea in the morning plus a glass of warm/cold milk with home made protein powder (almonds+cashews+walnuts+saunf+white khaskhas+roasted chana+mishri) just before leaving for office has been my breakfast for the last two years. Healthy and tasty and I don't feel the urge to eat before lunchtime!

๐“๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง: similar dry snack, dry foods for aged pets (especially dogs, cats) eventually wrongly affects their gut microbiota and overall health.

For the first hour after waking up ('fully kicking the bed' Type waking up) .. I usually avoid consuming anything, except maybe plain drinking water or lukewarm drinking water.. to flush out the nightly build-up in the stomach.
(18-20 years back, for three four days, had tried Morarji Cola. But did not quite fancy doing so on a continual basis. So stopped thereafter.)

Now, with age, always i always start the vehicle in first gear, aka small portions of fresh seasonal fruits or 4-5 soaked almonds, 3-4 walnuts or other dry fruits and if I feel up to it.. then some dairy.

Obviously I do have occasions of consuming even toast/bread or the packaged rusks type toasts or even the ๐˜ฎ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฌ๐˜ข-๐˜ฌ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช that a relative often stocks in their snacks cabinet.
Bagrry's muesli (the plain version) too is consumed at times. The foreign brands and other jazzy variants from Bagrry too are somehow not that good or do not have the value (for the money spent).
The criminally mis-marketed ones with 'no added sugar'.. have ingredients which are purchased from vendors (by the manufacturers). So they do not add 'sugar', but they but materials with already sugar added.
And the sugar free substitute chemicals that some brands add.. are an avoidable risk for those with cardiac conditions or other issues.

I do not eat egg or meat, fish, non vegetarian fare.
But those who do, obviously have easy options in an egg ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฉ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ซ๐˜ช, scrambled eggs or booked salted/peppered eggs.
Along with dairy of-course.

Wheat flakes is what I often consumed, when I was a teenager.
Unsure if it is my ๐—๐–บ๐—๐–บ๐—†/เคตเคนเคฎ or a reality but cornflakes seems to make the back of my palate feel dryish and sometimes bloated or gassy. (No, I do not have lactose intolerance.

Raw/uncooked ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ-๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ฆ๐š๐๐ž cottage-cheese ๐“น๐“ช๐“ท๐“ฎ๐“ฎ๐“ป or preparations made of it too are something I relish. Sautรฉed ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ and even sautรฉed potato dishes or ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ขs are another breakfast choices of mine.

When around vegan or (proper) Jains or vegan Jains.. the face expressions on both sides are similar to those of Dr. Veeru Sahastrabuddhe.. when Ranchodas Shamaldas Chanchad aced the first main examinations.

Vegan options too are aplenty though. And avoiding subsoil produce too is easy.

Besides readymade oatmeal breakfast.. when alone.. I often just chop and steam ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฌ๐˜ช (bottle gourd ) in a pressure pan. Then simply add tangy lime juice, rock salt, some freshly grounded black pepper and sometimes fresh coriander leaves.
Just good old ๐˜ญ๐˜ข๐˜ถ๐˜ฌ๐˜ช.

Of-course many traditional and seasonal (and regional) dishes are ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฆ-๐˜ซ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฅ (cannot be beaten/surpassed).

As a youngsters, i would confuse the Mehican tortilla, enchilada to be what we refer to as a childa/cheela.
But childa is a different thing altogether.
Pongal or Ben Pongal is similarly nutritious if 'moong' daal is used.

Plain sprouts: be it moong, peanuts or "moth"/ dew bean lentil too are good enough.

Poha, upma, nool puttu (idiyappam), dosa, idli, uttapa, santula type or kaali type เคšเฅเคกเคพ/chiwda (the fruity version with a hint if sugar is amazing, albeit acquired taste), medu vada, sambhar/ghuguni, puttu (especially the one made from the red puttu rice), kafuli (again a rice accompaniment Garhwali dish), baadi (เคฌเคพเคกเฅ€ is again a pahadi dish), bajra roti with ghee and gud/ jaggery is another staple in regions like Rajasthan, thepla, dhokla are all mostly acceptable to even vegans and (proper) Jains too (if garlic, onion, potatoes, carrot et al are not there) and are all nutritious, healthy options with minimal or no frying involved.

Dhoklas though are not that easy to make for everyone, except sometimes with the readymix packaged kits. But those I would not call entirely homemade.

Not in breakfast, but often as the last meal of the day or to keep it light.. I have porridge/daliya in supper.
