I want to make a server for my factory requirements…..

My software runs on MS SQL express edition (free edition) so max I can use four core CPU (free edition permits only usage of core cores)

I need motherboard that supports MVME m2……

Dell t30 is the most suitable one but doesn’t have m2 slot…..

Only reason to so for assembled one is that m2 slot is available only in high end servers…..

Please suggest me which components to use……

Just use a spare desktop in your office.

If it was a critical application you wouldn’t be using an express edition.

What’s wrong in using express edition?

Why to use latest server configuration…

Cheapest way to get best is to search for ppl who sell old servers ( usually they run better and you get warranty by seller) Only drawback is that is you can get them in major cities.. If you live near by Delhi should be easy to find..

They are better than current high end desktop and also process stuff faster due to their configuration, reliable too

But if you have $$ then just go and but any rack server from Dell/ IBM..

Now even cloud solution are great to the price.. So can look at that option to all depends on need and usuage..
With them no headache of maintainence or future outdate is excluded..

Tell me what is your overall budget for everything because server components are costlier than consumer pc components on an average. Primeabgb shop is located at lamington Road Mumbai & is quite famous. I am not from Mumbai though.

The SQL database size would be less than 10gb….. I am going to run a custom ERP program……

I don’t wanna buy used server cause I don’t want maintenance issues and downtimes….

Also cloud is not an option for me cause the location of my factory doesn’t have high speed internet…. A 8 mpbs connection is for 80000 plus gst…..

Just for my information, who much would a good cloud server cost me ?

As I told you, I am looking for a server with MVME support. In branded server, MVME is available on servers starting around 1.25 lakhs……

I don’t need raid and all…..

Need MVME for faster processing of reports……

Budget can go to 1 lakh also……

not able to find server ram on usual sites, since server mobos can be quite picky with ram used so better contact primeabgb to confirm about compatible ram with above mobo.

I am also not able to find any officially supported nvme on supermicro site.

I think you should definitely contact primeabgb(especially if you are in/around Mumbai) regarding ram & ssd compatibility.

Branded server prices are not available online, have you contacted dell customer support online for prices as per your requirements because that way you will get much more info. Also is NVMe really required compared to say using a good sata ssd.
