Bisleri Water bottle charged ₹55, more than MRP ₹20

you got a much better deal for rs 55, they should have a breakdown of mRP+service charges but given the service offrered 55 rs is way too cheap

I'm the latest victim of this scam. Was charged 159 for a 1littre water bottle with rs 20 mrp.

MRP is only for retail shop , retail shops can't charge more than MRP .. any service establisment can add to MRP in name of service charge .

Ask any small vendor to put up an AC & chairs in their shop & register it as hotel under commercial establishment rules & they can also legally charge more than mrp. The point of mrp is that small vendors don't overcharge you without providing anything extra in terms of service. You most likely don't know that in many parts of UP & Bihar small vendors actually charge more than mrp by citing reasons like they are running generator to keep the beverages cold during long power cuts so "extra charge".

Had a similar experience. It was 295 for coke can. We saw it was 214 for water and didn't take it. Moreover this was on Zomato carnival. So they weren't even waiving the service charge.
