I brought Xiaomi 12 Pro that was around 55k in Feb 2023. Phone was working good except giving battery backup of 5 hours with screen open. Accepted that but as soon as it completed its 12th month soon a blue line appeared on the screen while i was on a whatsapp video call and stayed. Visited Mi center they told me that it would cost 15k for the replacement of screen. I searched internet and found that lot of user are facing same problem including some other brands too. OnePlus and Samsung is giving free replacement to the users even device is out of warranty but not Mi.

I chased them on twitter email etc but no use they are just asking paid replacement. Any other user having experience in this kind of issue ?

When you have money to spend, spend it wisely. You could have gone for Apple or Samsung rather than this cheaters Chinese Craps at this same price point.

Now regret and suck your finger.Nothing can be done now except spending extra 15 K bucks.

It is absolute non-sense idea to spend on 55 K on Xiaomi.A Chinese Maal will always remains a Chinese irrespective of whatever you paid for it.

Paisa_ Khao_mi  Company.

U could have bought Samsung/Apple at this price range [slightly more budget] but you choose that.

Nothing can be done except complaining multiple times.

But as once they have ignored from service centre I don't think they will consider anything.

That looks like a green line to me. Green line issue is well acknowledged to affect a small proportion of users. It's a more serious issue than burn-in (mostly confusee with image retention which is temporary ) I am surprised that it's not a more widespread issue considering lot's of users use the displays at unnecessarily high brightness even indoors and adaptive brightness algorithms of most brands seem to favor higher brightness as well. Xiaomi will not help at all unless more affected users come forward. In your place I would have filed a case in the consumer court. Strange that issue is seemingly more common with Samsung panels. 2024 panels are reported to come with some mitigations for this issue. It cannot be eliminated completely.

Either live with it or Try consumer court ( not NCH )

When did OnePlus & Samsung become so generous to provide free display replacement for out of warranty product?

This is a hardware issue with the product. It has nothing to do with Xiaomi. Xiaomi doesn't make displays. They source it from Samsung if it's AMOLED.

Only after a deluge of complaints from affected users.

Strangely enough this seems to mostly affect top of the line Samsung panels that are used in flagship devices.

Pure speculation: High brightness can  hasten the onset of the green line issue and premium panels can boost to crazy high peak brightness levels. So maybe there's a link?

I am damn sure that these poor quality screens are secretly sent to 3rd world countries like India. And best quality screens are used in US, UK.

Issue is inherent to OLED. Even Apple iPhones aren't immune. Not limited to any particular country.

So I searched for the resale value of it and you can buy it around 26k on cashify.

So on olx or offline market it would be much lesser.

Thats the sad reality of Xiaomi premium phones, within 1 year lost about 60% value.
