BSNL is the only provider that provides the cheapest plan to afford for keeping a secondary number alive just for receiving SMS/calls. Does any other telecom company provide any affordable plan?

You need to set your expectations accordingly so you don't face frustration or disappointment. 😂

BSNL is only good for calls and SMS even in the remote places. Nothing more should be expected from them.
i use jio and it works fine,
i can pay extra if iam getting priority services and better network

And now in most of the remote places people are using jio and airtel and it works much better than bsnl
so it seems u r the only one who is having issue with private operators or may be u r also  bsnl employee 😂

Airtel in my area is worst. Since 10 years same. Multiple complaints customer care, their complaint app (forgot the name), twitter, email, etc etc... nothing worked.

At one point, they even asked can u refer a location for hosting a tower.

Only last year, when they increased the charges, 4G signal became better.

BSNL - Many of my friends & relatives are using it. Good as long as you dont need to call their customer care for any kind of service.

What is minimum recharge (any operator) to get only incoming calls?

I am currently using bsnl as secondary sim but after seeing this I think I have to port out

The only advantage of bsnl is you won't get otp on time so scammers won't be able to scam you as you won't be able to provide OTP on time

My relative works in Jio. I heard they outsource these calls to the people whose validity is about to expire or expired (will be called every 2 or 3 months).

Though the warning is given for disconnect, it seems internally they keep the connection alive for 1-2 months.

actually, it looks many people from villages and small towns not aware of this disconnection and don't recharge on time. Finally the number goes to someone and they end up updating new number everywhere. I keep hearing this story so often.

I also support BSNL .Going to port out my Chortel SIM to BSNL .Even 3G internet of BSNL is better than 4G of Chortel .Irony is that the chortel tower is just about 200 metres from my location.

These thugs called many times even after having active recharge plan of 149 in queue,

They distribute numbers to any unknown people privacy gaee tel lene full Gunda gardi

If recharge is done once in 90 day it's fine

I once abused one such goon he immediately blocked the number i threatened him by calling from another number then he activated again

Now i note down their numbers and thrash them using other operators sim card sms bomber auto redialer and what not post publicly on social media on OLX for selling something insanely cheaper calls pour in to them like rainy river

BSNL works in very different.

Earlier days i used to have network issue during power outage. But complaining to nearest BSNL exchange, the SDO was so cooperating. They raised the issue with field engineer and was fixed withing a week time.

So it all depends how nearest BSNL exchange works.

It may not be same for all.

Also one can try to raise complaint at their portal and nearest BSNL exchange will revert back.

True. Because its getting outsourced, the quality is purely depending upon the area. Because even training is not formal.

Some are very bad, some are good.

True
Go to the nearest BSNL office, there's one in every city
Talk to an officer there, he'll co-operate
I had good experience recently, he guided me very patiently and helped me in complaining to higher authority (GM Meerut UP West) with respect to Bsnl fibre installation at my home in a village
Fibre was installed in 1 week with no extra charges

Port to MTNL Delhi. MTNL provide lifetime validity with one time recharge of 225 rupees. I am using it for my secondary number.

BSNL is now considered a mobile company that powers only your 2nd SIM or parents SIM

BSNL should understand their place in telecom industry and launch plans accordingly

They are digging their grave by spoiling the 94 and 107 plans

I don't really understand why so much negative feedback about bsnl. I got 1 year plan about to expire in a month and I almost used 1 to 2gb data daily out of my 3gb. Other than that, I didn't face any severe issues. Sometimes, I am even getting 4g in my home and office and at the same time jio is not so good as per my wife. Yes, may be we won't get astonishing speeds in bsnl but still my purpose is being served. Yet, I am planning to port my main bsnl sim to jio to get advantage of 5g and uninterrupted calls and data.

All the network providers increased plan costs but BSNL reduced the plan validities. Both are Same. Government networks are also same as Private networks. Looting people money.

Great job, BSNL. It was really necessary to ensure the hikes for their efficient tireless workforce. Plus the awesome management that has been providing the latest and the best that the technology has to offer.

IMO, they should reintroduce incoming call tariff.

To top if all off, they still have the 20p/20KB data scheme.... But, the silver-lining is that, their speed will make you feel that 20KB is plenty of data.
